Title: Tight End one step closer to winning a nice bet Post by: TightEnd on May 22, 2006, 06:54:51 PM A few weeks ago, towards the end of the season I travelled to Shrewsbury. Lovely town, people quite insular but it would be like that. Too close to Wales for the locals not to be a little strange!
I was there to see a football match, and it was number 77 on my list of league grounds visited The game was ok, Shrewsbury beat an awful Rushden and Diremonds (never has a nickname been more apt) but on view was a special talent A 19 year old blonde English goalkeeper who looked sensational... I returned home and that night PMed Nemesis and told him about my scouting find and both of us (I believe) had a few quid on the lad playing for England before he's 25... Today Manchester City have signed him.....watch out for him he is the business, best goalkeeping talent I have seen at that age. Full stop. David James is both error prone and ageing and in the next couple of years this lad is going to be a regular in the Premiership getting very busy behind Man City's back four. He is flamboyant and technically sound Remember the name. Title: Re: Joe Hart Post by: The Baron on May 22, 2006, 06:57:10 PM I've heard about this guy before. I had money on Kirkland for England, I will do the same here.
Title: Re: Joe Hart Post by: Graham C on May 22, 2006, 10:27:19 PM I'll keep an eye out for him. Nice spotting a potential future someone isn't it.
Title: Re: Joe Hart Post by: ifm on May 23, 2006, 02:32:22 AM Shrewsbury is cool!!
Great nightlife and some great guys at the footie. I have been to dozens of games there because my mate Luke Rodgers used to play up front for them before moving to Crewe. You should see the players lounge though!! Title: Re: Joe Hart Post by: GlasgowBandit on May 24, 2006, 01:45:18 PM I returned home and that night PMed Nemesis and told him about my scouting find and both of us (I believe) had a few quid on the lad playing for England before he's 25... Spill the ebans though what price die you two get? Title: Re: Joe Hart Post by: TightEnd on May 24, 2006, 05:37:17 PM 66-1
not a great price but through a mate and for the crack and to photocopy that slip when he turns into Shilton and gets 125 caps Title: Tight End one step closer to winning a nice bet Post by: Triple X on February 01, 2007, 08:33:57 PM Joe Hart has been named in the England U21 squad today for the first time
first step to an international career, though i dont think he has played in the Premiership yet has he? Definitely one for the future Title: Re: Tight End one step closer to winning a nice bet Post by: TightEnd on February 01, 2007, 08:46:50 PM He's been on the bench for Man C most of the season
Just been loaned out to Hull. There, he should get plenty of practice and noticed a bit No idea if Pearce picked the Eng U21 team this time, but I stick with my view. Hart is going to be a star. Title: Re: Joe Hart Post by: TightEnd on January 07, 2008, 06:42:08 PM bumpity bump
not a bad spot even if I say so myself first choice at Man C and looks a great talent will be a England goalkeeper before long Title: Re: Joe Hart Post by: Longy on January 07, 2008, 07:16:32 PM Fair play tighty, I think the bet is more like 1/66 now the 66/1.

Did you ever get to Maidstone for example yes I made it to Maidstone in 1992, League Cup Round 2 Leg 1, 1-0 win for us missed out on Kidderminster Torquay never got done and now they are down Aldershot got kicked out before my time I'd done Exeter, Halifax, Rushden and York of the other relegated clubs.... Title: Re: Joe Hart Post by: Indestructable on January 08, 2008, 07:21:07 PM Don't know how I missed this thread.
On Saturday the chant for Joe was "Englands number one". Personally would like him to concentrate on City for the time being and the under 21's but agree he is a great prospect. Title: Re: Joe Hart Post by: Karabiner on January 08, 2008, 11:59:13 PM Well he is in my fantasy team fwiw...

Title: Re: Joe Hart Post by: Triple X on January 10, 2008, 09:28:28 PM i remember starting a thread about a year ago when he got his U21 cap congratulating u on an excellent spot.
funny thing is tho - the times i have seen him play for the U21's and Man City this season i think he looks a bit nervous and shaky and lacking in confidence. Goalkeepers need to be arrogant and confident because there is no hiding place and u cant dwell on mistakes - a la Schmeichel, Seaman, and today Reina, Lehmann (at his peak he was very good and very arrogant in 2004!) and Van der Sar. Too many of the English goalies lately look to nervous - Carson, Robinson, Richard Wright etc. They have to get this fear out of themselves otherwise we will eternally have a goalkeeping problem. s Title: Re: Joe Hart Post by: TightEnd on May 12, 2008, 11:12:08 AM http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/internationals/7395247.stm
