Title: Our Survery Says... Post by: snoopy1239 on May 24, 2006, 01:33:16 AM Howdy all. It’s been a couple of months now (I think) since the blonde site was relaunched. It’s been a lot of hard work, but I, and all the other contributors for that matter, have thoroughly enjoyed offering our services. I sincerely hope that people have enjoyed the site and the content provided.
However, to move forward, it is sometimes necessary to obtain the thoughts of its users, many of whom utilise this very forum. Therefore, I’d be highly appreciative if you could take a few minutes of your time to answer the following questions. The feedback would be welcomed with open arms, and I’d be forever at your mercy (well, okay, that last bit was a lie). We already know that you guys, perhaps with the exception of the design, love the forum, so if you could focus your attention and answers on the main site (as opposed to the forum), then that would be top banana. (1) How often do you visit the site? (2) Once on the site, do you browse, or just take a fleeting glance? (3) Do you have blondepoker.com set as your browser’s homepage? (4) Which sections do you frequent the most? (5) Which sections do your frequent the least? (6) Which are your favourite sections? (7) Which sections do you think are a waste of time and perhaps worthy of deletion? (8) Do you like the content we offer? If ‘no’, why? (9) Are there any sections which you believe should be advertised on the homepage, rather than just located in the menu bar? (10) What are your thoughts on the current design? Do you approve? What changes would you make if this were your responsibility? (11) Has the relaunch of the site been a positive step forward? If ‘no’, then why do you think this is? (12) Would you use a weekly poll located on the homepage which asked various questions? (eg, Which of the following is your favourite poker book?) (13) What would you like to see the site offer that it doesn’t currently have? (14) How would you feel if blonde were to get rid of the site altogether, just leaving the cardroom and the forum? Would you miss it at all? (15) Finally, do you have any further comments or suggestions regarding the blonde site? Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Forum - Way too much :D. Every day main site - a couple of times per week (2) Once on the site, do you browse, or just take a fleeting glance? I browse around looking for something to grab my attention. Anything that says free food, that sort of thing. No being serious. I normally read the blogs by members. Tightend, Tikay, Tank, Yourself, Red and all the other Blondites (3) Do you have blondepoker.com set as your browser’s homepage? Damm computer speak. I am not sure what this means TBH. I have it on my desktop. (4) Which sections do you frequent the most? Forum (5) Which sections do your frequent the least? Forum - Live poker probably. But that's mainly because I am an online player. I occasionally have a look (6) Which are your favourite sections? Forum (7) Which sections do you think are a waste of time and perhaps worthy of deletion? Any section I contribute to :D. Other than that, it wouldn't be right to delete anything. We all have our own favorite sections. One mans favorite is another's least favorite. (8) Do you like the content we offer? If ‘no’, why? Yes, I like it fine (9) Are there any sections which you believe should be advertised on the homepage, rather than just located in the menu bar? Give me two secs, I will look. Nope it all looks good from here. I did have a look for the shop recently. Perhaps that when it arrives. (10) What are your thoughts on the current design? Do you approve? What changes would you make if this were your responsibility? I am just a humble Blonde foot soldier. I couldn't possibly say. (11) Has the relaunch of the site been a positive step forward? If ‘no’, then why do you think this is? The colours threw me to begin with. But now I like it. I even changed my avatar to fit in with the yellow and black layout. Penguins are yellow and black. (12) Would you use a weekly poll located on the homepage which asked various questions? (eg, Which of the following is your favourite poker book?) Yes. That should be Adam's and Nemesis' responsibility (13) What would you like to see the site offer that it doesn’t currently have? ehhh... not sure. I am not that smart Boss (14) How would you feel if blonde were to get rid of the site altogether, just leaving the cardroom and the forum? Would you miss it at all? I think it is an important part of the Blonde structure. Some people use the site on a daily basis. By taking away that from them would seem unfair. I like it and think it should stay (15) Finally, do you have any further comments or suggestions regarding the blonde site? I like it and I like the forums members. I think the Blonde mods and organisers should feel mighty proud of themselves. :)up Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Post by: Poppet7 on May 24, 2006, 11:55:10 AM 1) How often do you visit the site? (2) Once on the site, do you browse, or just take a fleeting glance? Browse (3) Do you have blondepoker.com set as your browser’s homepage? The forum is set as my homepage (4) Which sections do you frequent the most? The forum, tankbank, blogs, gallery (5) Which sections do your frequent the least? Live updates, Where to Play (6) Which are your favourite sections? The forum, tankbank and the Gallery (7) Which sections do you think are a waste of time and perhaps worthy of deletion? Nothing is worthy of deletion, I'm sure others read the bits that I'm not interested in. (8) Do you like the content we offer? If ‘no’, why? Yes, I like reading the poker news and articles, they are written very well (9) Are there any sections which you believe should be advertised on the homepage, rather than just located in the menu bar? tankbank, thetanks articles are definitely worth advertising, they are cleverly written and make sense. I find it very easy reading. (10) What are your thoughts on the current design? Do you approve? What changes would you make if this were your responsibility? I'm going to be honest and say I don't like the design. It's too dark and gloomy and all the stuff on the homepage is crammed making it uneasy on the eye. I do like the bold headings with short intro underneath, it helps me to decide whether I want to read it or not. The small pictures add a bit of life to the page, if it was just text I wouldn't find it very appealing to look at. (11) Has the relaunch of the site been a positive step forward? If ‘no’, then why do you think this is? Yes because the site before wasn't updated regularly. I think that blonde is now updated everyday or near enough, gives us something new to read everyday. (12) Would you use a weekly poll located on the homepage which asked various questions? (eg, Which of the following is your favourite poker book?) Yes, no reason not to. (13) What would you like to see the site offer that it doesn’t currently have? Maybe national results, just so that when I actually get on a final table I have proof! Oh, and a chatroom perhaps? (14) How would you feel if blonde were to get rid of the site altogether, just leaving the cardroom and the forum? Would you miss it at all? Yes, I think I would, as I said I think most of the stuff is excellent to read, very informative, clear and interesting (15) Finally, do you have any further comments or suggestions regarding the blonde site? Please change the colour! Make it 'blonder' rather than make me feel like I'm looking at a rainy day, especially because the summer is coming :) Well done to all those involved with the re-vamp, you did good :)up Title: Re: Our Survery Says... (7) Which sections do you think are a waste of time and perhaps worthy of deletion? Nothing is a waste of time (i'm sitting on the fence here), seriously I can't see anything I'd want deleted. (8) Do you like the content we offer? If ‘no’, why? Yes (9) Are there any sections which you believe should be advertised on the homepage, rather than just located in the menu bar? I think you should promote the shop a bit more, its revenue for you. (10) What are your thoughts on the current design? Do you approve? What changes would you make if this were your responsibility? I like it on the whole, although I think the front home page needs tweaking, the grey margins on each side seem like a waste of space, & Blondepoker logo IMO should be at the top. (11) Has the relaunch of the site been a positive step forward? If ‘no’, then why do you think this is? Very Positive. (12) Would you use a weekly poll located on the homepage which asked various questions? Post by: snoopy1239 on May 24, 2006, 07:44:11 PM (1) How often do you visit the site? in & out most days (i'm easily distracted) (2) Once on the site, do you browse, or just take a fleeting glance? browse then head to the forum (3) Do you have blondepoker.com set as your browser’s homepage? nope (i hope your not offended!!!) (4) Which sections do you frequent the most? After the forum. Blogs & the news items (5) Which sections do your frequent the least? If your talking the front page of the site, i guess that would be the Where To Play section. (6) Which are your favourite sections? Forum, Blogs, Live Updates. (eg, Which of the following is your favourite poker book?) occasionally (13) What would you like to see the site offer that it doesn’t currently have? More interviews with live & online players. (14) How would you feel if blonde were to get rid of the site altogether, just leaving the cardroom and the forum? Would you miss it at all? Yep sure. (15) Finally, do you have any further comments or suggestions regarding the blonde site? The sites progressing nicely Some interesting answers here. First off, the blogs seem to be especially popular, so I'm going to try and find a better way to present them. At the moment, they're kind of hidden in the menu bar, but there really is some great stuff in there that is crying out to be brought more to the forefront of the site. Nope, I'd never be offended if you didn't have it as your homepage. Please don't worry about being critical or speaking negatively here guys. Have to be honest and sometimes brutal to move forward. Where to play section... I'm considering adding a section to this on hotels. Apologies to whoever suggested this to me. I've forgotten who it was so can't credit them. Anyhow, it's going to have all hotel details surrounding the various casinos. Would you guys find that useful? A google map feature is also being mulled over. Interesting that you mentioned the grey margins in the design. I'm looking to add the banner onto the forum (as suggested by Nemesis). However, the forum is wider, so the banner needs to be lengthened. This will offer an extra menu option, whilst also making the main site wider, therebye shortening the margins. I too think it's a waste of space, and I also think a thinner banner will mean people don't have to scroll down as much. Interviews... Yes, I've tried to bump this up a bit. Hence, the JP interview. I've purchased a dictophone, so hopefully more to come. MANY THX FOR THE FEEDBACK. AWESOME STUFF! Finally, I'm currently listening to Rod Stewart (Young Turks) on my ipod. How cool am I?? Actually, don't answer that... Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Damm computer speak. I am not sure what this means TBH. I have it on my desktop. rotflmfao When you first launch your browser, the homepage is the first page that crops up. If you so wish, you can set blondepoker.com as that page by selecting 'set as homepage' in the 'home' section of the menu just underneath the main banner. (This currently only works if you use Internet Explorer, but if you have Firefox (as I do), then I believe you can do it via tools - options in the menu bar at the top) -- can some1 confirm that? Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Post by: totalise on May 24, 2006, 07:58:06 PM Howdy all. Many thanks in advance… (1) How often do you visit the site? once a week if that (2) Once on the site, do you browse, or just take a fleeting glance? browse (3) Do you have blondepoker.com set as your browser’s homepage? naturally not (4) Which sections do you frequent the most? whatever is on the main page, mostly the poker news (5) Which sections do your frequent the least? the rest (6) Which are your favourite sections? poker news, galleries and the tourney reports (7) Which sections do you think are a waste of time and perhaps worthy of deletion? most of the stuff in the "poker articles" section (apart from Blondies stuff) is a waste of time to me, but I dont think its worthy of deletion. Differnt strokes for different folks.... (8) Do you like the content we offer? If ‘no’, why? Its ok.. the news seems as though it follows the flow, rather then setting its own standards.. take the latest story on Hellmuth vs Filmaff as an example... its been known for weeks. (9) Are there any sections which you believe should be advertised on the homepage, rather than just located in the menu bar? n/a (10) What are your thoughts on the current design? Do you approve? What changes would you make if this were your responsibility? its an improvement on the last site.. I like it (11) Has the relaunch of the site been a positive step forward? If ‘no’, then why do you think this is? definately (12) Would you use a weekly poll located on the homepage which asked various questions? (eg, Which of the following is your favourite poker book?) not if the questions were that banal.. if they were marginally interesting and the results of the poll would be something that interested me, then sure (13) What would you like to see the site offer that it doesn’t currently have? I'd like to see a more fragmented forum (14) How would you feel if blonde were to get rid of the site altogether, just leaving the cardroom and the forum? Would you miss it at all? not especially... its something to read to pass the time. (15) Finally, do you have any further comments or suggestions regarding the blonde site? get a radio show.. Q & A with Tikay and Sark.. week-nights at 8pm til 10pm.. would be an instant hit! Other then that, make the most of your assets. Camtasia lets you record your screen, so get Blondie or other top players to record mtt's/cash game sesssions/SNG's and let people exchange AP's or pay to see them/offer them to the members. Its something that has value, is cheap to produce, and would be really in demand (especially if you sign up more top players) Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Yes... even tho I don't use it much... the tips section etc (15) Finally, do you have any further comments or suggestions regarding the blonde site? Thanks for all the hard work Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Post by: Lee on May 26, 2006, 12:45:29 AM (1) How often do you visit the site?
3 or 4 times a day (2) Once on the site, do you browse, or just take a fleeting glance? only visit the forums (3) Do you have blondepoker.com set as your browser’s homepage? No (4) Which sections do you frequent the most? Poker hand analysis, general discussion (5) Which sections do your frequent the least? profiles (6) Which are your favourite sections? Poker hand analysis, general discussion (7) Which sections do you think are a waste of time and perhaps worthy of deletion? Live poker, live updates (8) Do you like the content we offer? If ‘no’, why? Visited the home page once or twice, seems pointless visiting a page each day for the sake of it, i have the forum set as a favourite link instead. (9) Are there any sections which you believe should be advertised on the homepage, rather than just located in the menu bar? No (10) What are your thoughts on the current design? Do you approve? What changes would you make if this were your responsibility? Far too busy for me, too much going on, nice simple cleanly laid out layouts for me only. Its too much for your eyes to take in at once, so your mind shuts off and says stuff looking at that. Which is why i have never bothered going back to the home page. I guess if i'm honest it looks like every other boring homepage out there. Blondepoker is something different to anything available out there, i think its website should fall under this bracket too. My opinions on websites are somewhat different to the masses, so don't take anything personally, it's just my opinion. (11) Has the relaunch of the site been a positive step forward? If ‘no’, then why do you think this is? No idea, i'm new(ish) here. (12) Would you use a weekly poll located on the homepage which asked various questions? (eg, Which of the following is your favourite poker book?) Possibly if homepage offered something different or something i felt i must read up on or keep in touch with. (13) What would you like to see the site offer that it doesn’t currently have? Two things: 1 - Royal Flush stories on spunking uber stacks with less than average hands. 2 - Bit more freedom of speech, moderation of forums is very important without doubt, moderate too much and you end up with a whole bunch of people who don't really say what they want to and conversations that don't quite reach the extent that they could. (14) How would you feel if blonde were to get rid of the site altogether, just leaving the cardroom and the forum? Would you miss it at all? Only really see it in my head as a great forum, so i guess not. (15) Finally, do you have any further comments or suggestions regarding the blonde site? I am a member of quite a few forums and the layout and the user friendliness of this one is probably the worst to be honest. (in my opinion) the forum indexes are more complicated than they need to be, why do we have child boards? these only confused me in my first few days here, don't see the point, just list them and we can choose accordingly. I also find it the very hardest forum to know whether i am up to date with a thread, whether ive read it etc. This may be me being thick, however there are far easier forums to navigate. When i visit a forum, immediately i want to know, which threads have new posts in since i last visited, whether i have read the thread is immaterial, i will open each one up and read the newest posts etc. Just read back through my answers and they seem a little negative, they are just me being honest is all i can say. Its a shame but we do not spend enough time complimenting on things in life, i guess my view is that by visiting your site i am paying the highest compliment i could. By providing feedback on the things that need improvement i am only assisting in making your site better for the present and more important future visitors. Title: Re: Our Survery Says... He is wanting feedback on the main site, as if it were a seperate entity to the forum entirely. For example.... 1) How often do you visit the site? Three times a week (2) Once on the site, do you browse, or just take a fleeting glance? Browse (3) Do you have blondepoker.com set as your browser’s homepage? No (4) Which sections do you frequent the most? News Articles, TankBank (to see how my puppies are looking) (5) Which sections do your frequent the least? Where to play (6) Which are your favourite sections? Blonde blogs, News articles (7) Which sections do you think are a waste of time and perhaps worthy of deletion? I see no need for the latest forum topics section, I think if there's one thing that doesn't need much more plugging, it's the forum. Everyone already knows and loves it. So it only serves to clutter up the homepage and I think it should be the first thing to go in any clean up. (8 ) Do you like the content we offer? If ‘no’, why? Yes, I think quality breeds quality. With so many good authors such as Snoopy, Jen, Tightend, Tikay, RED-DOG and others regularly contributing, I think they all spur each other on to deliver the goods. (9) Are there any sections which you believe should be advertised on the homepage, rather than just located in the menu bar? If anything, it needs cleaned up. More on the bar, less on the homepage. (10) What are your thoughts on the current design? Do you approve? What changes would you make if this were your responsibility? Don't like the colour scheme personally. It might grow on me though. (11) Has the relaunch of the site been a positive step forward? If ‘no’, then why do you think this is? Yes, as it is updated more often with better content, it makes it worth visiting a few times a week. Before the forum was just a one stop shop for me. On the very rare occasions that I did look at the main site, it was just too darn yellow. (12) Would you use a weekly poll located on the homepage which asked various questions? (eg, Which of the following is your favourite poker book?) Och aye (13) What would you like to see the site offer that it doesn’t currently have? The subscript of the synopsis on the news articles on the left hand side to say who wrote it, rather than who submitted it. (14) How would you feel if blonde were to get rid of the site altogether, just leaving the cardroom and the forum? Would you miss it at all? Bit miffed :D (15) Finally, do you have any further comments or suggestions regarding the blonde site? More book reviews! (I want a gig :D ) Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Every couple of days (2) Once on the site, do you browse, or just take a fleeting glance? Check the blogs, read new articles (3) Do you have blondepoker.com set as your browser’s homepage? Forum is set as homepage (4) Which sections do you frequent the most? Blogs and news (5) Which sections do your frequent the least? Where to play (6) Which are your favourite sections? Yes (9) Are there any sections which you believe should be advertised on the homepage, rather than just located in the menu bar? The blogs, the Tankbank should be in with the blogs also. (10) What are your thoughts on the current design? Do you approve? What changes would you make if this were your responsibility? I don't particularly like the colour scheme. (11) Has the relaunch of the site been a positive step forward? If ‘no’, then why do you think this is? Yes (12) Would you use a weekly poll located on the homepage which asked various questions? (eg, Which of the following is your favourite poker book?) I would participate, but would doubt the results would have much value. (13) What would you like to see the site offer that it doesn’t currently have? Some of the news stories require more in-depth analysis, perhaps links to the sources or use of guest writers would help. (14) How would you feel if blonde were to get rid of the site altogether, just leaving the cardroom and the forum? Would you miss it at all? I wouldn't miss it terribly at the moment, but I think the site has the potential to become something that I would miss. (15) Finally, do you have any further comments or suggestions regarding the blonde site? I'd like to see more news and articles from different writers. The stuff that Snoops and Jen do is great but they can't provide enough interesting material to keep the site fresh every day. Perhaps there should be a pool of writers each asked to produce something weekly or monthly to give us a good read daily. Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Browse for new stuff (3) Do you have blondepoker.com set as your browser’s homepage? Nope google. (4) Which sections do you frequent the most? Forums (5) Which sections do your frequent the least? Results, reports (6) Which are your favourite sections? News, forums (7) Which sections do you think are a waste of time and perhaps worthy of deletion? None (8) Do you like the content we offer? If ‘no’, why? I personally dont think there is enough dynamic content on the website to justify me visiting alot. The forums are very good. (9) Are there any sections which you believe should be advertised on the homepage, rather than just located in the menu bar? Pass (10) What are your thoughts on the current design? Do you approve? What changes would you make if this were your responsibility? I like its good. (11) Has the relaunch of the site been a positive step forward? If ‘no’, then why do you think this is? Yes becasue before it was a shell with no content, now at least it its building up nicely. (12) Would you use a weekly poll located on the homepage which asked various questions? (eg, Which of the following is your favourite poker book?) Yes (13) What would you like to see the site offer that it doesn’t currently have? More stories, news from different sources (14) How would you feel if blonde were to get rid of the site altogether, just leaving the cardroom and the forum? Would you miss it at all? Not right now no, but I could see a time where the site will develop into something worth visiting daily. (15) Finally, do you have any further comments or suggestions regarding the blonde site? I always like the "content is king" quote for websites. It's key for people wanting to return daily to the same sites. The main website I believe is good, its still relatively new and will no doubt improve interms of its content and direction over time. At the moment the forums are the only place I head to, a quick glance on the main site now and then. Quiz/Caption comps etc are a real good step in the right direction and I really like how its going. Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Post by: tikay on May 28, 2006, 02:05:40 PM LeeHack said, in his honest & constructive reply.... When i visit a forum, immediately i want to know, which threads have new posts in since i last visited, whether i have read the thread is immaterial, i will open each one up and read the newest posts etc. There is - I think - a setting on your Profile whereby you can see what Posts have been made since your last visit. Not 100% sure on that though. Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Post by: ifm on May 28, 2006, 02:08:11 PM At the top under "user info"
Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Post by: tikay on May 28, 2006, 02:13:59 PM Thanks ifm.
I think it says "unread Posts since last visit". Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Post by: Lee on May 28, 2006, 03:13:49 PM Thanks Tikay, ifm, that certainly helps.
Cheers Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Post by: snoopy1239 on May 30, 2006, 12:27:55 AM Less than 25 replies.
We've got a LOT more regulars than that, nevermind users. Please. It's a five minute job. Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Post by: Heid on May 30, 2006, 01:04:35 AM (1) How often do you visit the site?
Once or twice a wek (2) Once on the site, do you browse, or just take a fleeting glance? I suppose it would be a browse. (3) Do you have blondepoker.com set as your browser’s homepage? No (4) Which sections do you frequent the most? Blogs, quizzes (5) Which sections do your frequent the least? Hand of the week (6) Which are your favourite sections? Blogs, Tank Bank (7) Which sections do you think are a waste of time and perhaps worthy of deletion? Where to play (8) Do you like the content we offer? If ‘no’, why? It's good. (9) Are there any sections which you believe should be advertised on the homepage, rather than just located in the menu bar? Not sure (10) What are your thoughts on the current design? Do you approve? What changes would you make if this were your responsibility? Much better than the old design. (11) Has the relaunch of the site been a positive step forward? If ‘no’, then why do you think this is? It's good, it had to update. (12) Would you use a weekly poll located on the homepage which asked various questions? (eg, Which of the following is your favourite poker book?) No (I hate polls) (13) What would you like to see the site offer that it doesn’t currently have? Cardroom reviews (14) How would you feel if blonde were to get rid of the site altogether, just leaving the cardroom and the forum? Would you miss it at all? Probably. (15) Finally, do you have any further comments or suggestions regarding the blonde site? Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Post by: JungleCat03 on May 30, 2006, 04:18:49 PM (1) How often do you visit the site? Near daily. (2) Once on the site, do you browse, or just take a fleeting glance? Browse (3) Do you have blondepoker.com set as your browser’s homepage? No. (4) Which sections do you frequent the most? Articles under news. Forum. (5) Which sections do your frequent the least? Tournament diary (6) Which are your favourite sections? The blogs, Jen and Snoopy's tournament accounts. They both inject colour into their accounts and are very readable. Like tank's articles too - he's an amusing fella. Forum of course. (7) Which sections do you think are a waste of time and perhaps worthy of deletion? Not sure about deletion but I think "hand of the week" doesn't live up to its name as there is not a hand every week! Also tips and tricks. This is a good section in theory and some good articles here, but a more regular submission would be gratefully received. More to say on this later. (8) Do you like the content we offer? If ‘no’, why? I do, there's some great stuff on offer but I personally would have a greater bias toward poker technique and style. Also the news is a little biased toward UK events and American events tend to only get a mention when a UK player excels in them. (9) Are there any sections which you believe should be advertised on the homepage, rather than just located in the menu bar? If tips and tricks could be improved then this would be a good choice for the home page. (10) What are your thoughts on the current design? Do you approve? What changes would you make if this were your responsibility? I'm colourblind so some of the problems other people have mentioned don't really bother me! Overall I think the site design is ok, i haven't got a problem with the forum. (11) Has the relaunch of the site been a positive step forward? If ‘no’, then why do you think this is? Yes it's been improved. (12) Would you use a weekly poll located on the homepage which asked various questions? (eg, Which of the following is your favourite poker book?) Not particularly. (13) What would you like to see the site offer that it doesn’t currently have? As alluded to earlier, i think the site lacks strategy articles. Most poker sites tend to have some of these and they are great fodder for generating discussion. Two Plus Two started a section called "Play a hand with the masters" or soemthing, in which a hand was posted and several of their leading players commented on plays stage by stage from preflop through flop and on each street. This was a superb idea and a similar thing on blonde would be great. General poker articles on strategy would also be good. Also, more world poker news would be great. More interviews with top players would also be a great addition if possible. (14) How would you feel if blonde were to get rid of the site altogether, just leaving the cardroom and the forum? Would you miss it at all? Yes, I do enjoy the articles on offer. (15) Finally, do you have any further comments or suggestions regarding the blonde site? In general, it's a good site, with a great forum. If the site becomes great too then it will be one of the top poker sites in the world. Think Jen, Snoopy and the other writers do a very good job. Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Post by: snoopy1239 on May 30, 2006, 05:47:20 PM ty Heid and Junglecat.
Some awesome feedback, much appreciated. keep em coming guys Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Post by: GlasgowBandit on May 30, 2006, 07:55:12 PM (1) How often do you visit the site?
Seldom. Not as much as I should I am being honest because when Id o visit I like to have a good look through and read most of the articles on offer. I would say I probably visit the main site about once a week sometimes more but sometimes never at all. (2) Once on the site, do you browse, or just take a fleeting glance? I like to browse and read the most updated articles. I especially like to read the blog entries. (3) Do you have blondepoker.com set as your browser’s homepage? No. I don’t know why though because it’s the first place I head when on the net – well to the forum anyway. But as my ISP is changing from wanadoo to Orange soon - on a matter of principle I think I may change my home page to Blonde – my future is most definitely not Orange. (4) Which sections do you frequent the most? I visit the forum on a daily basis, but from the main site I like to read the blog entries. (5) Which sections do your frequent the least? Where to play section, as I’m based in Glasgow the choice is limited as to where I would play so I tend to find this info on the main forum under live games. (6) Which are your favourite sections? Overall the forum is definitely the best thing Blonde offers. With regards the main site well as stated throughout I am more interested in the Blog entries. I also like to read up on t he events that have taken place. (7) Which sections do you think are a waste of time and perhaps worthy of deletion? Where to play – simply because it is of no interest to me. (8) Do you like the content we offer? If ‘no’, why? In the main I think the content is very good. Could be updated more regularly though sometime some of the articles are a bit dated and these could maybe be stored in an archives section. (9) Are there any sections which you believe should be advertised on the homepage, rather than just located in the menu bar? I would like to see the home page cleaned up –its far too busy and too much going on with it. If it where me I would have one menu bar that takes you into each section rather than having it all sub-divided. (10) What are your thoughts on the current design? Do you approve? What changes would you make if this were your responsibility? Far too busy, it needs to be cleaned up in order to make it easier to navigate. I prefer websites to be clean and user friendly, although once on the main site you know where to look for what but if you’re a new user its very sore on the eyes. (11) Has the relaunch of the site been a positive step forward? If ‘no’, then why do you think this is? I don’t really have an opinion on this as I wasn’t a regular visitor to the old site. (12) Would you use a weekly poll located on the homepage which asked various questions? (eg, Which of the following is your favourite poker book?) Most definitely. I love polls. But I would also have a link from the forum to the poll so we got as many views as possible. (13) What would you like to see the site offer that it doesn’t currently have? I can’t think of anything just now. (14) How would you feel if blonde were to get rid of the site altogether, just leaving the cardroom and the forum? Would you miss it at all? I wouldn’t be in favour of this. Although I don’t visit the main site that often when I do it provides me with a few hours of reading material. (15) Finally, do you have any further comments or suggestions regarding the blonde site? No. Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Post by: snoopy1239 on May 30, 2006, 08:03:18 PM Thx Glasgow.
All this feedback really is useful, and all comments, both positive and negative, are taken on board. It's really hard maintaining a site when I just have my own, sometimes deluded, views on what works best. So, thx again, and please please please give the survey a bash if you haven't already done so. One a side note... would you guys find it hany if we had hotel details on the main site? Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Post by: GlasgowBandit on May 30, 2006, 08:12:33 PM One a side note... would you guys find it hany if we had hotel details on the main site? Cracking idea. But I reckon if you had a whole section on live events you could have hotel and travel as a sub section. With other info aabout the schedule for the tourney. Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Post by: HarlemShuffle on May 31, 2006, 10:49:07 AM (1) How often do you visit the site?
Not as often as I should. I take a glance at the home page now and then thinking I should come back to read the articles but rarely get time. If I read an article it’s usually because it’s been recommended in the forum. (2) Once on the site, do you browse, or just take a fleeting glance? Fleeting glance. (3) Do you have blondepoker.com set as your browser’s homepage? No (4) Which sections do you frequent the most? Blonde articles if they have been recommended and the forum. (5) Which sections do your frequent the least? All sections look quite interesting but I would only go and read them if I have a reason to so don’t visit any section very often other than the forum. (6) Which are your favourite sections? As above. (7) Which sections do you think are a waste of time and perhaps worthy of deletion? I think all sections have a use if you are looking for that particular info. (8) Do you like the content we offer? If ‘no’, why? From what I’ve seen so far I quite like it. (9) Are there any sections which you believe should be advertised on the homepage, rather than just located in the menu bar? No sure. (10) What are your thoughts on the current design? Do you approve? What changes would you make if this were your responsibility? I like the new design. Looks good and easy to navigate. (11) Has the relaunch of the site been a positive step forward? If ‘no’, then why do you think this is? Yes. (12) Would you use a weekly poll located on the homepage which asked various questions? (eg, Which of the following is your favourite poker book?) The forum is where I tend to visit most. I don’t go to the homepage unless I have a need to. I might answer a poll if I happen to be there for some reason. (13) What would you like to see the site offer that it doesn’t currently have? (14) How would you feel if blonde were to get rid of the site altogether, just leaving the cardroom and the forum? Would you miss it at all? Probably not a great deal. It is handy at the moment because I know it’s there if I need it but I don’t think I visit it enough to miss it if it went. (15) Finally, do you have any further comments or suggestions regarding the blonde site? I have an idea for the poker room. Maybe you could organise certain tournaments, maybe once a week or something, that offer material prizes rather than cash. Think these kind of tournaments can be fun for a change and you get a chance to win something that you wouldn’t usually go out and buy for yourself. Just an idea to mix things up a little but and also set Blonde apart from the other poker rooms. Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Post by: snoopy1239 on June 01, 2006, 05:30:04 PM Keep em comin peeps
the more feedback the better cheers Title: Re: Our Survery Says... Post by: gatso on June 03, 2006, 02:18:52 AM (1) How often do you visit the site? 2-3 times a week
(2) Once on the site, do you browse, or just take a fleeting glance? normally just a quick glance, maybe a little bit of browsing (3) Do you have blondepoker.com set as your browser’s homepage? no (4) Which sections do you frequent the most? tourney reports (5) Which sections do your frequent the least? no idea, I think there's quite a bit I've never seen (6) Which are your favourite sections? tourney reports, blog (7) Which sections do you think are a waste of time and perhaps worthy of deletion? none that I've seen but as I said, there's plenty I haven't seen yet (8) Do you like the content we offer? If ‘no’, why? yes (9) Are there any sections which you believe should be advertised on the homepage, rather than just located in the menu bar? Ask the pro. Mr Burns is the big selling point of the site and more should be made of this (10) What are your thoughts on the current design? Do you approve? What changes would you make if this were your responsibility? answered below in Q15 (11) Has the relaunch of the site been a positive step forward? If ‘no’, then why do you think this is? yes (12) Would you use a weekly poll located on the homepage which asked various questions? (eg, Which of the following is your favourite poker book?) yes (13) What would you like to see the site offer that it doesn’t currently have? (14) How would you feel if blonde were to get rid of the site altogether, just leaving the cardroom and the forum? Would you miss it at all? right now I probably wouldn't miss it particularly but as it is a work in progress I'm hoping it will become a site I would miss (15) Finally, do you have any further comments or suggestions regarding the blonde site? This might take a while, I used to get paid to pick holes in my company's websites. -The photos next to articles on the left hand side of the main page need to become clickable links. This is also true of other sections e.g. internet card rooms, scene and heard, tournament reports, player profiles etc. -I'd like to see the top banner become a clickable link to the homepage -In general I dislike the navigation of the site. I've actually had a proper look around before answering this and there's so much content that I never knew was there because of the awkward navigation -A more specific comment on navigation- in the UK cardrooms section if for example I want to see what's happening in Luton I have to guess which page no. 1-6 the info will be on. The alphabetical list on the old site was much more user friendly -Only a personal opinion but to me the tables at the top of each page of the uk cardroom section comtaining the address and opening hours look as though something's gone wrong while rendering the page that should keep you going for a while Title: Re: Our Survery Says...
