Not had a hand yet, neither am I sure why it's a 6 person table based tourney.

[edit] 20 minute levels make up for it. Now got the CL to my immediate left, button re-raised his very suspicous min raise and then moved all in when future CL re-raised. CL knocked out button with KK vs AQ

Grrrr, got up to 4k, now down to 2.7, A10 vs A9, he makes 2 pair on the river.

Ho ho, nice big double up with JJ vs 1010, all cards came 9 or lower and he put me all in on the river.

5.2k at the break, same guy who got me with A9 earlier, hit runner-runner to make a flush against me. It is a matter of time before I take all his chips though...
I'm in a comfortable position though

None of that is in the tournament details though.  ???

Anyway, aces just make a huge pay-off against an early limper who had AJ on a jack high flop.  8.4k now

I'm 19th, but I got disconnected 10 minutes before the last break and have only just come back, I watched as my suited AK was mucked. My ISP is getting a earful tomorrow.

i'm. out. KJ got beat by K7. then he flopped a straight to finish me off. ho hum :(

Still in, but got disconnected again, I've lost about half my chips now through disconnections.  >:(

Just doubled up with j5 versus K3. He had the flush draw and I had the straight draw. I got lucky.

Sitting 15th but I'll need another double up.

Connection down AGAIN!!

I'm starting to get angry.

Third break, I've got 7.5k, in 17th of 21. Blinds about to go to 300/600, 11 to be paid, one double thru will hopefully be enough. Not had a good hand in about 40 minutes, but I have lost about 5k in disconnections though. Here's hoping I'm not the bubble boy.

good luck mate. You gotta sort that conn out 5k is a lot of chips.

Up to 17k, found a pair of kings and took a big pot down, also made a fh with a 2,4 to take out a SS.

found aces and just doubled up to 40k, other guy flopped top pair of a 9 high flop. Maybe I won't be shouting at my ISP tomorrow now.

Im pleased with the structure, youve been playing 4 hours and the BB is only 800, it is actually a good game to watch.

Title: Re: william hill grand prix
Post by: byronkincaid on August 01, 2005, 12:58:34 AM
yes it is a good structure. would it be possible for you to disconnect everyone apart from me for a while? :D

The blind structure I agree is fantastic. I occasionally play the 2am $4000 and that becomes a crapshoot later on, but here, it genuninely feels about right. Big up to willhill.

Title: Re: william hill grand prix
Post by: NoflopsHomer on August 01, 2005, 01:33:18 AM
not much to report, apart from a 30k chip pot I just took down, I had 98 spades flop came KK8, bet on the flop, turn (another spade) and river (another spade for the flush).

Tough table, this could well take another couple of hours.

That was a huge pot.

I know, I had to fold AQ diamonds.  :-[

Almost out when SS goes after my BB, (he has been ALL of the tournament) I push him all in with A8, he shows AJ.

I then double straight back up with AQ vs A7.

Down to 4 as the CL takes another scalp, I'm SS now though :(

Final 3, other two players have HUGE stacks of over 100k each, I have about 30k.

Pray for me.

This is the best I've ever done in a tournament. I've only been playing 1 year.

I'm out, picked up 88 and shoved it all in, called by AQ, he flops two pair and a boat on the turn. Still, nevermind, eh?

Thanks, it means a lot.
I really want to pay tribute to the blind structure though, that's the most fun I've ever had playing a tournament.

It looked good, going to try again next week? If I am finished at the Vic I wouldn't mind a shot.

I think I will, happy with how I played, only 7.26 thru a sattelite first time (you might guess I have a small bankroll). 2000 chips and 20 minute blinds, and there was a surprisingly fair number of fish. 6 people per table which means you hitting close to 70-80 hands per hour.
