Title: Under-age Poker Accounts Post by: Coca919 on July 31, 2005, 09:10:22 PM Ok I have a "friend" who has been playing poker online since under the age of 18, yes i know it's terrible but this does happen unfortunately. On some sites he still uses the accounts which were made while under-age, although he is now over 18. Would this be a problem if he was to win big on the account and they wanted to run an identity check on him? Or would the fact that he is now of legal age when he won the money mean there won't be a problem?
Any help please ??? Title: Re: Under-age Poker Accounts Post by: byronkincaid on August 01, 2005, 02:18:39 AM Pull most of the money out, then email them and tell them. If they close the account then either play somewhere else or open one up in your dad's name or something. I think you'll find most of them won't close the account, they'll just want you to send them some ID or something.

Title: Re: Under-age Poker Accounts Post by: Coca919 on August 01, 2005, 06:06:18 PM Yes in his own name, correct details apart from he was under 18 when account was made (over 18 now). For example, on pokerstars, you are only allowed 1 account per person, so he already has one and wishes to still play on the site. Im not sure if with pokerstars you have to give your dob when signing up or just tick a box to say you are over 18. If you only have to tick a box then yes all the details are correct and hopefully he would be fine. But ideally I think the best thing would be to try and make a new account if possible. I'm not sure how strict sites are on having a second account though.
