Title: Ever had a disaster like this one (Sheffield £750 Double Chance NL Freezeout)
Post by: MrDigital on May 27, 2006, 11:50:54 AM
I raised one off the cutoff blinds 600/1200 an make it 4200 to play with 10h Jh flop came 7c 8 h 9 h and i switch into trapping mode and check... turn 7h and i now realise I have the dogs Ballearics and have to make the best of it... My head is battered from too much coffee we've been playing 6 hours and the fact i have the absolute nuts against the chipleader.  I lead out he calls. On the river 8x and i think i'll check here and take it down on the river (LOL) I check he bets 5k and i do a bit of acting (should i shouldnt i) and the thought process is 'call the bet and get him in on the river'. (yes we are on the river  :D )

I call and he flipps 86 off over for FH 8's over 7's and I realise that I have just made one of the biggest errors in judgement and focus in my poker playing career (other than losing big pots steaming drunk on JD & Coke).

Anyway, it is the final today and I am in 3rd in chips with 61,800 chipleader has 71k blinds 800/1600 12k for winner. . .

I really could have had all his stack and had to get it out of my head, but amazingly I was that exhausted i didnt tilt i just wanted to go sleep it off...

One of the worst calls I have ever made TY...  And good luck Red-Dog who is also on FT

WOW, i'm surprised you didn't get disqualified for soft playing :D
I once folded a low flush to an obvious full house to then realise i had folded a straight flush!!!
I just didn't see it as i was looking at the flush.
GL in the final and COME ON THE DOG!!!!!
What are you both like chipwise? in good shape?
