Title: Phone a friend Post by: RED-DOG on May 29, 2006, 02:27:07 PM We were just watching a repeat of 'Who want's to be a millionaire" when my daughter asked, "Who would you choose as your 'Phone a friend?'
Mrs RED and I replied, in unison "Tightend!" (Blank look from my daughter) Who would you choose? (You can't have Tighty, we've got him) Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: Rod Paradise on May 29, 2006, 02:42:41 PM my Dad, the ex, my mate Wayne, Big Laz. (dunno how long a list you are allowed - think it's 6? )
I'd also ask Tighty (and I'd offer a %age - so ner-ner Red Dog). And in case of a trains or an english geography question - Tikay. Think that group would provide good cover for my headful of useless info. Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: Wardonkey on May 29, 2006, 02:51:47 PM My Dad.
In our families first game of trivial pursuits, many Christmasses ago, he went round the board and won the game before anyone else had even had a go! We didn't let him play after that... Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: tikay on May 29, 2006, 03:04:19 PM Not Kev, for sure......
Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: Robert HM on May 29, 2006, 03:07:16 PM I'd phone RED-DOG, I have the utmost confidence in his abilities. Especially his ability to put me through to TightEnd.
Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: Dewi_cool on May 29, 2006, 03:09:25 PM I dont have any friends
Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: RED-DOG on May 29, 2006, 03:10:00 PM I'd phone RED-DOG, I have the utmost confidence in his abilities. Especially his ability to put me through to TightEnd. I wouldn't phone Robert. Have you ever tried to get a straight answer from a solicitor? Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: Colchester Kev on May 29, 2006, 03:11:23 PM Not Kev, for sure...... sigh ...... It has taken me a long time to cultivate the image that I am a bit thick .... I aint about to let you bluff me into exposing the "real" me !!! Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: Robert HM on May 29, 2006, 03:12:30 PM It has taken me a long time to cultivate the image that I am a bit thick I am impressed you have persuaded us all. Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: tikay on May 29, 2006, 03:12:37 PM I think I'd phone Flushy & Ariston.
When were they ever wrong about anything?...... Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: RED-DOG on May 29, 2006, 03:14:17 PM I think I'd phone Flushy & Ariston. When were they ever wrong about anything?...... rotflmfao rotflmfao rotflmfao Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: Rod Paradise on May 29, 2006, 03:14:39 PM I think I'd phone Flushy & Ariston. When were they ever wrong about anything?...... Thing is Tarrant lets them go before the answer is revealed - how could they survive not getting another argument in :D :tikay: Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: Ironside on May 29, 2006, 03:17:22 PM I think I'd phone Flushy & Ariston. When were they ever wrong about anything?...... rotflmfao Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: Colchester Kev on May 29, 2006, 03:18:54 PM Plus you only get 30 seconds .... How will Ariston get in the stories of his latest bad beat and leave time to answer the question ??
And Flushy would take up all the allocated time insisting that he should be in the chair and how unfair it is that someone with less ability than him got through :D Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: Sark79 on May 29, 2006, 03:22:47 PM From the forum, perhaps Tank. He seems like a bright chap. There are others as well, but Red's original post said " you cant have Tightend...we have him ". Mad and Nemesis are switched on as well and no-one has mentioned them. Matt appears to be smart for a monkey. So he would be my expert on wild animals :D
If I could have a fictional character it would be DATA. He can play the violin flawlessly and cook a mean omelette. Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: RED-DOG on May 29, 2006, 03:24:47 PM I don't like agressive food

Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: TightEnd on May 29, 2006, 03:35:55 PM Thank you RED and MRS RED
I'd choose Sark79. I could do the sensible answers but for those answers needing a touch of genius laced with a tot of madness, he'd do mighty fine Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: GlasgowBandit on May 29, 2006, 03:39:43 PM I reckon I'd probably phone my Granda but they would have to give me about 30 minutes to relay the question to him.
Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: Sark79 on May 29, 2006, 03:39:46 PM God help you then Tightend :D You are in deep trouble if I am your choice
Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: Josh on May 29, 2006, 04:24:46 PM I'd phone Tarrant, he's looking at a card/screen with the answers on.
Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: Indestructable on May 29, 2006, 04:30:54 PM From Blonde we have a few of the professions with Legal, Bank Manager etc and a few that have done game shows, Tightend, Mel, Me, Western Geoff to name a few so we have a reasonable pool to call on.
I am not sure how many friends you could choose, but I would pick a doctor, a vicar and Mrs Indestructable (apart from marrying me she is very wise) I went to see the show being filmed once and Chris Tarrant spoke to me or rather he called me a d#ckhead. I think he was joking, but plan to get on the show one day. :)up Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: thetank on May 30, 2006, 05:32:12 AM My friend would be sat next to a fast PC (whose hard disk wasn't clunkied up with porn) with their finger on the google button.
It would be a three man team, one would be on the speaker phone, the other two on seperate computers. The person on the phone would ask me to repeat the question in order to stall for time ( as "umm errrr och ummm...... definately B" might look a tad dodgy.) The googlers would have a large A4 piece of white card (paper might have floppy problems) and a black marker (tested for lack of sqeakiness) next to them. When they find out the answer, they write down the corresponding letter and calmly hold the card above their heads. Drills would be in place beforehand, so as that no silly nonsense (such as holding the card facing the wrong direction) goes down. All three members of the team would be vetted so that they were sufficiently fluent in understanding my accent. I'd probably still phone tightend. :D Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: Newmanseye on May 30, 2006, 10:07:54 AM My aunt, Probably Tank, Peeveen, Sheriff, Jinky, and Rod Paradise.
Id say that team covers the bases if Tighty is off limits Title: Re: Phone a friend Post by: matt674 on May 30, 2006, 11:27:38 AM I'd ring Dewi
Not because i have any faith in him giving me a correct answer but just so he can say he's got a friend......... |
