We want to start a new thingymajig, "The blonde Roll Of Honour". It will be on the Main Site, and will be a Permanent Feature with it's own section.

"blonde Roll of Honour".

The idea is that any blondeite who achieves a significant achievement would be nominated to the bROH. So, for example, we would - or in this case, I would - nominate these, as an example....

Brian Wilson - first blondeite to win a bracelet.

Roland De Wolfe - first blondeite to win a WPT event in 2005. (I think).

Dave Colclough - for being elected to The Hall of Fame.

But....and this is key - it is NOT limited to big names. So, for example, we would add to the list, maybe.....

Ironside for being the Scottish Irish Champion.

The geezer who finished 18th last week in Paris and donated 50% of his winnings to Peter Heighway, the Bubble Boy.

Anyone who wins a decent online comp.

Or wins his first ever Live Comp, even if it's "only" a 10 jobbie.

Or makes a TV Table.

Or performs a particular act of kindness or generosity - maybe Harry D for his efforts to raise money at the Game4Life Charity Ball.

And so on, & so forth.

Get the drift? Worth pursuing? Let me know, because I'd like to do it. We would list the nimonation, together with some wordy bits.

And continuing that theme (see, we WERE busy last week...), how about a humorous antidote to the bROH - The blonde Roll of Shame (bROS).

For example,

Brian Wilson, the first blondete Bracelet Winnmer to lay down TT to raise from a guy with J-4?

Ironside, for travelling furthest (400 miles, 9 hours) to exit within 3 minutes of a comp starting.

Red-Dog for his "Golden Duck" (first round exit). In fact, we could have a whole section of those just for Ariston!

Am I making any sense? Shall we do it?

like the ROH idea but not by public nomination, because we're all so nice every nomination would get seconded and passed and pretty soon we'd all be on there. private nominations with executive decisions being the seconds.
not sure about ROS though. perhaps Blonde prat of the month is less permanent.

I'd probably be more interested if it was slightly more elitest than you're suggesting. I won't care too much a few months down the line if Joe Bloggs won a 20 game round his mates house, but I will still be interested in El Blondies Hall of Fame entry - thats impressive.

I see the community element of allowing anyone and everyone to put themselves forward, but then it stops becoming a hall of fame and starts becoming, well, just a hall.

How about a Hall of Flame - like a sinbin for people who break the cardinal rule of this forum.

I would like to nominate Ironside as the first inductee into the blonde hall of fame

For coming to Glasgow and allowing himself to be carried up a flight of stairs several times, even though he had already been dropped and had his neck broken performing this stunt.

For keeping Mrs Red-Dog and me company

For being the most prolific poster on blonde apart from the updaters

For getting everyones pics up and for being the site troubleshooter

For being the Scottish Irish international champion

For his dedicated persuit of lap-dancers

For never knowing when to shut up

For never knowing when to go to bed

For raising Lucy Rocach

For living in the Outer Hebrides

For eating dodgy pizzas

For all his fantastic donations to charity

For buying my breakfast

For being my mate

For being an all around good egg

I could go on......

oh and don't we just know it, but every line a gem and worth the read.

I would like to nominate Rob "The Yongsta" Yong, for his excellent "my first wsop" diary... it was, and still is, the most viewed thread ever posted on this forum.

It was insightful, entertaining ...and a compulsive read.
