Title: Lescott to Everton
Post by: Pokerron on June 01, 2006, 10:50:52 AM
As a Wolves fan I have mixed reactions.  He is definately Pl class and we have been holiding him back for a year or two now.  Everton are a good club to join and he could play his way into the EURO 2008 squad (competing with Davies and Dawson) and it is a good move for both clubs as we are short fo cash (£4m fee).

That said he has been my favourite played for 5 years, since his debut and its never good to see a player you like go.

Good luck Jo and well done to any Everton fans reading.

Still, this cheered me up: http://www.wba.premiumtv.co.uk/javaImages/0/8d/0,,10366~2919680,00.jpg

2008 being only 2 years away makes Terry and Ferdinand the centre backs is they stay serious injury free. Who's Davies?
I don't think Lescott is in the same class as Anton Ferdinand but he does look like a decent player.

IMO Davies (Curtis, WBA, ex Luton), Ferdinand and Lescott are 3 very similar players and lescott just needs a chance at PL level to show he can be a top performer.  If lescott had got the move to west brom (shudder) people would be talking about him, rather than Curtis Davies as the next big thing.

I don't expect lescott to push Terry or Rio for their starting players, but do expect him to be in the shale up with the payers you and I have named on this thread.

Don't forget Steven Taylor - if he makes the NUFC backline water tight he should get the England captaincy!
