Title: Do You Know Where This Is? #2 Post by: Tonji on June 01, 2006, 11:00:37 AM Help needed again to identify more photographs. These are from the 1920s, & show views of a seaside town. My guess is somewhere on the North Yorkshire coast (but I've nothing to really base it on, just a hunch).

well it has to be england, because it's so bloody grey. sandy beach rules out a lot of the south east coast. have you thought about south west, around the cornwall area? Why'd you say yorkshire? Is it because the guy in the picture looks like he's wearing an andy cap? The guy does look like a Yorkshireman, but everyone did in the 1920s :D

Compare the map with the little bit jutting out into the sea about 100 yds from the camera. the tower in the first photo is a church that seems to back right on to the sea & the harbour wall. I've never been to St Ives, in fact I don't believe I've been to Cornwall. I'm ashamed at how little I know of some parts of Britain, I think I know Europe better than Britain. I've got a Warehouse full of Photographs, Books, Paintings, all sorts junk. I'm a hoarder on a massive scale, but it helps that its my way of earning a living, but I always seem to buy more than I will ever sell :D but I like it that way (I see it as an investment). The next problem that I'll need solving, be sure I'll post it on Blonde.
