Title: HU - Crap Call or Inspired Read?
Post by: Junior Senior on June 01, 2006, 01:43:26 PM
Playing Heads Up ($50 1 on 1 game) and we have been going for about 25 minutes - its already a long game and the chips are just in my favour. - I have been behind alot of the game but am starting to get on top now.  This hand comes up and i am still gob smacked at his call here! (I am playing as thecharge)

My questions are:

Does my bluff suck?  Is this a crap call by him or an inspired read?

He check/called me with just a pair of 10's with no spade! - I can't beleive he called without a big spade in his hand! - unreal!..... thoughts.

I won the game btw  :D

My initial thought: If you had a spade surely you'd bet the turn?

And he's getting 4:1 on the call.

In your oppo's shoes i would see; your flop bet after my check is meaningless, it's a standard play (actually i would have reraised you, but that's me). I think your turn check is very weak here and therefore i would expect a big bet from you on the end if you actually had the flush. I think there would be enough doubt in my mind to call you with a semi decent hand.

That's the key point for me, I look you up here.

all good points - thanks!

too weak on the turn and too obvious on the river coupled with too small-a bet.

I would have called you too, but then h/u, I would have put a decent bet in on the flop and turn. No free cards. I know its h/u but T is not like A or K where you can perhaps allow some catch up.
