Title: Ladbrokes -> Neteller
Post by: Bongo on June 01, 2006, 04:38:30 PM
Yes, yet another neteller thread!

Anyways I would like to create a neteller account so i can move some of my rolll on there around to some other sites I would like to play on (including blonde).

My understanding is that I am better off with a USD neteller account as this will minimise charges.

Now Ladbrokes works in GBP (or at least my account does) so what would be the best way of getting the cash to neteller (ie with the lowest charges and/or best exchange rate?).

Straight from Laddies to neteller?

From Laddies -> Credit Card -> Neteller?

Any other suggestions?

For UK sites such as Ladbrokes I tend to stick to the debit card method for depositing and withdrawing (where the funds are held in Sterling).  Use the funds in your bank account to deposit direct into a site in US$ and then cash out at a later stage into Neteller.  Once you have US$ funds in Neteller you can move these from site to site.

Hopefully, once you've moved a bit of money into a US$ site once, you can fund all subsequent sites out of these funds.  That's basically how I got started.  I deposited $100 off a debit card into a Prima skin, cashed out $1700 4 weeks later (in the days when I used to run good) into Neteller, and then used these funds to start setting up accounts at sites such as Party, Stars, UB, etc.

If you ever need to convert the US$ bankroll back to your bank account, the best route is via Party on a switch card (not sure if they now support all debit cards but it was initially restricted to Switch) as the exchange rate is very competitive.

Hope this helps.

Sheriff

I'd rather use CC than debit card as you have greater protection against fraud.

My main problem with using the CC to fund is that my CC company's fraud team doesn't seem to like me depositing decent sums in poker sites  :D

Bongo,

I use the counter service at Ladbrokes and just use my Netella account running from Bank to USD and just use it on USD accounts.
You can get a members account at any Ladbrokes - can deposit any amount and can get any amount out, over 2k it is best to ring poker customer services, and they check shop has cash to cover withdrawl prior to you turning up and demanding their float at 10:30 in the am.

Another option is for you to have USD netella account and misses, mother, brother, father, wife to have netella £ account - I dont know if this would work just a thinking out loud type thing.

Yes Tractor,

You pay into your sports account in £ and can then transfer to poker in USD.  To cash out just reverse cash from poker to sports and can then withdraw over the counter.  Fast painless and no worries about having a card registered etc.

Just going to bump this as i really want to sort this out.

My cash is already in Ladbrokes and i'd like to get some out to play other sites (full tilt and blonde mainly).

Am I best to make my neteller account in $?

Will i get screwed if I make a deposit into it in £?

Has anyone withdrawn to neteller from ladbrokes? I can't see the option... Can you withdraw in $?

I have withdrawn from Laddies to Neteller many times with no problem although it used to be almost instant.

If you want to make a deposit into Blonde or Betfair/Hills in ££ then a Neteller £ account is fine, that's what I have.

I also use the Laddies counter service to deposit /withdraw, simple and efficient.

If you are wanting to deposit $$ into sites like Party and 'Stars then you will have to pay commision on those transactions.

And as far as I am aware all withdrawals from Laddies are in ££, it's just the poker that operates in $$.

Hope that clears things up.

So my guess is that I should open a $ neteller account and possibly take a hit when i first move the cash into neteller. This will allow me to shift money between the US sites with ease.

For the UK sites I have always been fine with CC so I will just shift cash around using that.

 :dontask:

Neteller account set up - no problem.

Ring up laddies to sort out a withdrawal to neteller (as advised in their withdrawal section) and it seems I can't do it. As I've deposited by card it has to come out by card - even the profit it seems - or by an offline method. (I knew i'd have to take back what I had deposited). Really helpful!

I thought this neteller lark was meant to make life easier!

Have you tried making a minimum deposit into Laddies via Neteller and then trying to withdraw ?

That may well hurdle the obstacles  ;)

Has to be worth a try.

To be honest, I think it's a good idea to make a small deposit to the site you want to withdraw from when using Neteller in any case; that way you can be sure the details are correct.

E.g. when withdrawing from Full Tilt, I was told that they could withdraw the money to my Neteller account manually if I gave them the number, but of course they would not be held responsible if I made a mistake, or a typo, and they sent the money to the wrong account! On the other hand, if I made a deposit to the Full Tilt cashier first (even a minimum deposit), I could see that the money has gone from the correct account number by logging in to Neteller; and then the process of withdrawing back to that account is automated, just as it is on Stars and VC.
