Title: tk on tv
Post by: The Camel on March 14, 2005, 06:42:26 PM
So, all those screen tests weren't wasted. Tikay is going to be the Alan Hanson of poker.

Good luck mate and ignore the wiseguy who said "Tony Kendall has got a good face for radio"

Thanks Keith, I'll need all the good luck I can get if I am to get this coup through!

And I was SURE that the wiseguy who made that crack was the same guy who I chatted with in Deauville. That particular individual & I - he was an "A-3 at it merchant" if I recall correctly - were discussing the "dream" of both of us making the Final (we were both still in with 2 tables left), & getting heads-up. Wiseguy said "heads up with tikay? Pefect. I'd play him heads-up BLIND and still beat him".....

Now, just who was that wiseguy......?

Good luck with your venture Tikay

Now, just who was that wiseguy......?

That was a totally different unwiseguy.

I just realised... if you carry on making all these razzle dazzle moves with A2 and whatnot you won'tt be the Alan Hanson of poker, you'll be the Gus Hansen of poker.

I'll get my coat.

Ok Ironside, question for you.

How many chips will the chip-leader of the EPT E-WSOP in Vienna have at the end of Day One, & Day Two?

Actually, I loved that little thing you got going with Colclough about the size of the overnight chip leaders chip stack. We ought to run a comp for Monte Carlo along those lines.

Anyone up for that?

the over site that you were writing reports for was running a comp based on over night chip stacks thats why i was asking how the stacks were

i over estimated first day and was about 40k out 2nd day

and my first 3 tricast was close with 8 left i got 2 of the first 3 i tought andreas would blow his stack and dave c would get into the shake up

i love the idea of a comp during the monte carlo event gives us something to shout for

Title: Re: tk on tv

No no no - that was the PR man........

And if he gets folks talking about the programme, then I guess he has done his job well, even if he has used a smidgen of artistic licence. They asked what other forms of income I had - "none", I replied, "only what I get from poker". Maybe I shoulda told them I am starving to death & penniless......

Have another glass of red wine Ralph.

can I ask, is 425 instead of or as well as 265 that's previewing now and launching same date?

Title: Re: tk on tv
Post by: tikay on March 15, 2005, 04:24:53 PM
Hi Adam.

Poker 425 is exactly "what it says on the tin", to quote the Press Release - a Poker Programme on Channel 425.

The new poker programme on channel 265, which I believe is called "The Poker Channel" is not connrected in any way with Poker 425.

Spoilt for choice, eh?

I know, the two new channels, 2004 WPT still not been shown (particularly looking forward to Surindah Sunahs win in Paris) EPT stuff on Eurosport, new poker million due, plus all the live coverage on Blonde...How are any of us going to find time to actually get a game played?

not one to boast, but I did make the final table of th 10 rebuy at Annabelles in Coventry, 17 runners!

I have been described as a cult, and my wife says I should go, far.

I am convinced that, if I find the right opening, I could really suprise you.

Hi Mel,

You would have needed to be a magician to have seen my debut last night - Poker 425 does not start until tonight! In fact, we record the show this afternoon.

Surrounded by professionals, & with an editing & production team that are second to none, I aspire to nothing less than mediocrity. Competence is but a dream. But for a regular guy like me, it's all terrific fun. Poker, one way & another, but most partuicularly the people I have met through it, has enriched my life more than you can ever imagine. I had a great life in business. Then came golf, in which I became Captain of my club afer only 4 years. Then poker, where I hardly set the tables alight, but managed notoriety of a sort. Next? Watch out those Crown Green Bowling boys, tikay's a-coming.....

Well done on your performance last night Tikay, must have been nerve racking for you. I thought you held it together very well and the content of the show was spot on. It will be interesting to see how it develops now.
Well Done
