Can someone give me an idiots guide to downlaoding off the internet please.

1. What programme do i need to have
2. Which site do i go to - is Torrent Spy the best site?
3. What is the actual process involved.
4. How long does a dowload of say a movie take?
5. Can i use the internet whilst the dowload is happening or does it slow the wireless connection down?
6. Is any of it legal?  I presume not!
7. Anything else i should know?  Is it really easy to do?

downloading copyrighted films is illegal unless you are buying them from a legal distrubution site

ok - lets presume i am doing it from a source that allows me, such as an episode of Poker 425?

advertising ways to download illegal stuff is also illegal


BUT you can download programs like poker425 show which have the permission of the copryright owner to be ahsred on the net

for this you will need a bittorrent client personally i use azureus others prefer different clients you can download them from www.download.com and they are prefectly legal

i host the 425 show on www.piratebay.org while advertising it http://www.torrentreactor.net/

the client does all the work what happens is the file is broken into 1000s of pieces and as you download a piece you are also uploading pieces once you have finished downloading you continue to upload prefaerable to a ratio of above 1:1 thus allowing everyone to get a fast download

uploading the 425 show takes about 4-8 hours the file size for this is 500meg once its uploaded more people will then upload it thus making the download faster and if enough people are uploading it it should take about 2 hours on a 1 meg connection

you can use the internet while downloading/uploading the file but it will slow it down to ensure you can surf smoothly you need to change the upload and download speed in the client

poker425 is totally legal to download and share as i have premission from the producer
