What would people suggest doing in this situation reraise if so how much, call and i would be interested if anyone says fold. Thanks Title: Re: Stars turbo help Post by: thetank on June 06, 2006, 05:21:52 PM In all seriousness, at that blind level, I fold.
I try to avoid 3 way action, and I try to avoid pisssing chips away seeing flops. The original raiser is using a typed raise, when it's a typed amount between 1 and 2 big blinds, it usually means weak. When it's a typed amount over 2, it usually means strong. (Don't quote me on that) The flat call to said large raise is also call for concern and a big reason to chuck it. For this reason, I doubt a squeeze play would work. But it's the only real option if you're going to play the hand. (all-in) With less chips, I may take a gamble. A call here is the difference between a workable stack, and a stack with which you'll soon need to take said gambles, so is out of the question. Title: Re: Stars turbo help Post by: Lee on June 06, 2006, 05:23:42 PM Fold, caller is not going to mess with raiser unless he has a hand and will probably end up calling in a 3 way all-in (your only move if not folded imo). Taking 99 into a 3 way pot is curtains usually, you will have better spots to get your money in and more importantly being the raiser rather than the caller.
Title: Re: Stars turbo help Post by: Wardonkey on June 06, 2006, 05:29:43 PM I agree with Tank.
You can't be sure of the raisers strength, but the call from the small bind smells like a big pair. If you call you still don't know where you stand unless you hit a set. Have to pass. Title: Re: Stars turbo help Post by: Bertpup on June 06, 2006, 07:44:28 PM Thanks for the response guys. I decided to push all in. My thoughts were that i was pretty sure matey boy in the SB had nothing as at this turbo level people with any kind of hands in the blinds rarely slow play to a raise.
Now if you were meadman what would you call with in this situation? Title: Re: Stars turbo help Post by: Rusty on June 06, 2006, 08:25:51 PM If i was Meadman I'd have only call with queens through aces, he is chip leading so possibly jacks too, Id be folding just two high cards like AQ AK. However I, like most others have said, would have folded the 9's to the raise and the call.
Title: Re: Stars turbo help Post by: RobS on June 14, 2006, 04:40:59 PM As always, it depends on the players, but if you do not suspect the small blind has a bigger pair than you then I move allin preflop here.
The chipleader open raised to 500 in the cutoff seat 6-handed, at this buyin level I assume he could have a wide range of hands here which you are sufficiently ahead of. Best result is of course that they both fold, but I've a funny feeling you are going to tell us one of them called with 66 and hit a set. Either that or KJ. |
