I am interested in how the people who work for online poker companies got their jobs?

Was it the conventional way of normal job applications or was it a word of mouth thing?

It's something I have always wanted to get involved with in some capacity or another but I sense the route to get in maybe a little different to normal jobs. Any advice, words of wisdom would be appreciated.

Word of mouth is the best way to go but it depends what you want to do (you don't state what kind of job)

Pokerstars have a jobs section on their site somewhere. stars is 25% owned by the staff so i bet it's not easy to get in.
It's pretty easy to get a job as some sort of customer advisor when any number of online sites associated to bookmakers.
You could look on bettingjobs.com and sure you could find something there. Also various members of this site run poker sites so maybe they will pm you. 8)

I have been looking for a Poker related job for ages ..... It aint easy mate.

There are 3 main recruitment agencies that specilise in the e gaming industry:

Well, I applied about 16 months ago and have been working there very happily ever since. Stars are a great company to work for. The one downside is, I can no longer play my poker there. That really is frustrating as I do believe with my hand on heart, it is head and shoulders above any other site. I hope this isnt interpretted as spamming, for those that know me, it was the only site I would use prior to getting the job.

There are other jobs availble on a failrly regular basis (not thorugh staff turnover I hasten to add, I can only recall one member of staff leaving in my time there). Check the web site and send in a CV

Sounds good just don't want to live in London again.

They have remote workers also...
