Title: United93
Post by: TightEnd on June 09, 2006, 03:07:05 PM
United93. In my opinion is a special film..an extremely powerful dramatisation of one part tragically unforgettable day.

I won't spoil it if you haven't seen it, but I saw it in Walsall one afternoon this week. It was only me in the cinema, such that it was like my private viewing.

At the end, I sat motionless for several minutes. The ending is simple and superb with a great directorial decision by the talented director Paul Greengrass.

I know the film has attracted some predictable criticism from US sources but I admire it for its even handedness.

If you haven't seen it, please do. It is wonderful.

But United were rubbish back in 1993 - Clayton Blackmore, Darren Ferguson, Keith Gillespie, Lee Martin, Brian McClair, Paul Parker, Mike Phelan, Danny Wallace, Gary Walsh, Neil Webb.............

Why would i want to watch that lot again? ???

Completely unglorified and left untouched by Hollywood. Very good work.

Some people from the plane play themselves. Fascinating stuff.

its a film made on a budget...its' not huge Hollywood production values, not a film that would have been made yet by "big" Hollywood.

air traffic control staff play themselves in some cases

of course people on the flight cannot.

I was fascinated by the "official" incompetence shown that day according to the film. From a psychology viewpoint it always intrigues me how people respond to extreme pressure.
