Title: Simon poker Day Post by: Padraig P on June 14, 2006, 08:24:22 AM On behalf of those involved in organising the poker for the homeless event wed like to thank all those whove helped to make our recent fundraising efforts a success
The tournament itself raised 20200(202 x 100) and pokerevents very generously gave us back 10 euros out of each 30 euro registration charge collected which brought the total to 22220. Even better news is that the total raised to help those marvellous people do the great work they do is fast approaching 50000! as donations continue to come in. sponsorsBoylesports along withPaddyPower,Victorchandler,SportingOdds,TheMerrionClub, 888, Texas Johnnys,The mob and a host of generous poker players have made this a fantastic allround effort which is what it should be. thanks also to Luke from the Fitzwilliam club and Tony Cascarino special thanks to blondepoker specially tikay and 425 for your help, encouragment and support Title: Re: Simon poker Day Post by: tikay on June 16, 2006, 01:21:23 AM It was our pleasure PP. Let us know when your next Event is, & we will see if we can repeat the trick. Sporting Odds gave a hefty lump of money, & 425 helped to publicise the cause. Good stuff. By the way, to those of you who were not aware, Padraig played the Paris WPT, & on a flop of A-J-T, passed his pocket Aces in a 3 way pot. BOTH other players had KQ.......Now THATS a good pass! there you go there is someone out there that is not "rubbish" unlike the rest of you! ;welcome; to blonde Padraig hope to see you on here more Title: Re: Simon poker Day Post by: Simon Galloway on June 16, 2006, 06:59:22 PM It is an interesting hand to crunch the stats on.
If you absolutely knew that they both had the straight it isnt a bad spot to gamble that you house up - assuming you are at a stage in the tourny where that suits your ends. But as soon as you include some possibility that only one of the opponents has a straight and the other has an underset blocking your progress, it becomes a very sticky spot and a very good pass.
