Title: Re: NewsBox Post by: redsimon on June 17, 2006, 07:24:41 PM How come the Devilfish book costs £4 more than amazon is selling it for and is being touted as a discount?
Title: Re: NewsBox Post by: TightEnd on June 17, 2006, 07:38:57 PM Good question, its free postage and packaging on snoopy's offer.
As for the differential price with Amazon, dunno. Title: Re: NewsBox Post by: Pab on June 17, 2006, 07:46:59 PM Good write up tight end.
I have attended a few of these festivals now, usually after satteliting into the main event so the weeks i go are not that expensive for me. However i see lots of the same faces but only a few consistently making nice cashes and it makes u think who actually makes a good living from the UK tournament circuit. During my week in walsall i heard several conversations about mr x oweing money etc.. and mr x took a few different forms and players i had heard of. As much as i enjoy live poker i dont see the festival circuit becoming a fixture in my calendar as i cannot justify it finacially Title: Re: NewsBox Post by: snoopy1239 on June 17, 2006, 09:12:40 PM How come the Devilfish book costs £4 more than amazon is selling it for and is being touted as a discount? not sure maybe it's because their delivery is '3 to 5 weeks' £10.99 is the RRP Title: Re: NewsBox Post by: snoopy1239 on June 17, 2006, 09:19:07 PM Just to clarify, blonde aren't earning anything from the deal.

The idea is that any profit we generate goes towards the cost of running blonde & providing Live Updates, which are free, & many people enjoy. I don't believe Amazon do Live Updates. But it's kind of you to point out that they are cheaper than us. Title: Re: NewsBox Post by: NoflopsHomer on June 18, 2006, 11:22:59 PM We can't compete with Amazon's muscle, & don't really want to. "Oooooooooooooh, he's turned the page three times in the last orbit." "Page counts for you now guys..." Title: Re: NewsBox Post by: thetank on June 18, 2006, 11:46:41 PM It looks like JK Rowling and Dan Brown are doing a deal after knocking out the short stacked Bible.
Can you re-buy in Paperback? (there's a decent pun to be had somewhere, I'm sure of it) Title: Re: NewsBox Post by: tikay on June 18, 2006, 11:55:44 PM It looks like JK Rowling and Dan Brown are doing a deal after knocking out the short stacked Bible. Title: Re: NewsBox Post by: totalise on June 19, 2006, 12:08:33 AM My problem with offers like this is that:
"Visa, Mastercard, or Amex" seem to be the only methods of payment (apart from snail mail) and I dont bother with credit cards.. and I dont fancy waiting an eon for cheques to clear. All i have is a natwest debit card (maybe this is usable, but it seems like it isn't) Is there a chance that in future, you could consider expanding the payment options to include those of us that dont use credit cards? if so, I would definately buy from here rather then amazon, as saving £3 isn't something that matters in my life, and if it goes to blonde, even better thanks a lot T Title: Re: NewsBox Post by: tikay on June 19, 2006, 12:10:25 AM We are trying to sort these payment issues now, your support is much appreciated. Title: Re: NewsBox Post by: Bongo on June 19, 2006, 12:16:39 AM Just to clarify, blonde aren't earning anything from the deal. Is this statement wrong then? If you aren't earning anything from this then everyone would be better off buying from Amazon using a blonde affilliate link... Title: Re: NewsBox Post by: tikay on June 19, 2006, 12:17:31 AM No idea bongo, sorry. You win the prize. ;applause; Title: Re: NewsBox Post by: Royal Flush on June 19, 2006, 02:01:23 AM Just to clarify, blonde aren't earning anything from the deal. Is this statement wrong then?
