Title: William Hill is linked directly to this forum Post by: Yurah on August 06, 2005, 10:38:28 AM I clicked on POKER NEWS on the William Hill software and was brought directly here. Wasn't there a argument about William Hill being somehow affiliated with this site? IF it is a direct link, wouldn't that be an "affiliation"? I remember that nothing negative was allowed to be posted about William Hill here/ So who owns and runs this site?
Title: Re: William Hill is linked directly to this forum Post by: The Truth on August 06, 2005, 10:58:16 AM Quote Wasn't there a argument about William Hill being somehow affiliated with this site? Sort of. Quote IF it is a direct link, wouldn't that be an "affiliation"? Not necessarily. The term affiliation needs to be defined. Quote I remember that nothing negative was allowed to be posted about William Hill here You must have selective memory. It is possible to post negative things about William Hill. It just has to be done in a civilised manner. Quote So who owns and runs this site? I am sure someone else can answer this more accurately than me, however the simplistic answer is Tikay, El Blondie, Mrs C and team. The forum though more generally reflects the views of the members and contributors. Title: Re: William Hill is linked directly to this forum Post by: dan on August 06, 2005, 11:23:39 AM you can get to this forum via will hill, yes
you can say negitive things about will hill if they are justified and as long as it is in a non agressive manner. i recently posted on here that i was having some problems with being dissconnected alot and i will say it has improved lately. but william hill DO NOT own or control any part of this site. just because you can get here via will hill does not mean that moaning on here(which i am not saying you are) will get anything done.i go on the arsenal website now and then, and from there i can goto ladbrokes website 02's website and various others but they are not owned or controlled by arsenal football club are they?? Title: Re: William Hill is linked directly to this forum Post by: ifm on August 06, 2005, 11:27:05 AM that's rather odd, you gotta admit it does look pretty suspicious
Title: Re: William Hill is linked directly to this forum Post by: bobby1 on August 06, 2005, 12:05:14 PM Suspicious?
William Hill have had the forum added to the poker425 site for over a month, in turn this is added in rotation to the poker news link on the poker site. We have a business deal with Blonde as we wanted to provide a forum for our players and just as importantly provide live updates of big poker tournaments to poker fans. Blondepoker own this forum and William Hill have paid to add it to our site, you can post on any subject and about any online site, this is a poker forum. Title: Re: William Hill is linked directly to this forum Post by: ifm on August 06, 2005, 12:28:34 PM i didn't mean suspicious from my point of view, i meant for someone who clicks thru the link, they are obviously gonna think it's willy hills forum.
I thought the deal was for a month anyhow? Ian Title: Re: William Hill is linked directly to this forum Post by: tikay on August 06, 2005, 06:54:25 PM sheesh, everyone is suspicious of everything, what IS the matter with folks? Heres the deal. We secured a deal with Poker 425 (owned by William Hill) to supply them with badged Live Updates fom Vegas. To make it simple, we said one month. This financed the cost of me & an assistant (Jen as it turned out, thank God), going to Vegas to do the Updates. We ANNOUNCED IT ON THE FORUM (Ironside, can you do a link to the post & thread please?). The Members welcomed it unanimously - they realised it meant they, the blondeites, would get FREE LIVE UPDATES. And we had to badge the Forum "Poker 425 blonde". Everyone happy. Everyone a winner. No secrets. None whatsobloody ever. Poker 425 also wanted it to work. So to stimulate traffic, they created a link to the Forum from the William Hill Cardroom. Actually, the link from Wm Hill is to www.poker425.com (Forum), but as that happens to be OUR Forum, it amounts to the same thing. One month, but it's now 5 weeks? Yes, to facilitate the negotiations to continue it, or not, we agreed to extend it by one week, to "throw it in" as it were, The Vic Live Update. Negotiations continue with Poker 425 & Wm Hill, as they do with 3 other interested parties. The discussions are cordial & civil with all of us. We DO need the deal, to finance the costs, so we can keep it free. Next, I will answer the other amazing allegation, that you cannot criticise Wm Hill on here. Title: Re: William Hill is linked directly to this forum Post by: Ironside on August 06, 2005, 07:01:19 PM ask and you shall be obeyed
http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=642.0 Title: Re: William Hill is linked directly to this forum Post by: tikay on August 06, 2005, 07:06:27 PM Our deal with Poker 425 (or Wm Hil if you prefer) stipulated that they would have no editorial influence WHATSOEVER. We would demand 100% indeprendence. All agreed, all happy.
During Vegas, Wm Hill had software probs on their site. Several members complained about it. Wm Hill - via bobby 1 - was able to use the Forum as a platform to answer those queries and complaints, which he did, at great length. He said "yup, sorry, we had a prob, it was caused by this, that & the other, we are working on it, da de da de da. Sorry". Then a mischief maker came on & rubbished Wm Hill big time. No prob, dont forget, "we have editrorial independence". Wm Hill responded (via Bobby 1) in great detail. BUT, because the complaimnant was clearly a mischief maker, & the allegations were backed up by a tissue of lies, Wm Hill (bobby) replied OFF FORUM, via blonde Personal Message. So what did Matey Boy do? He puiblished bobby's private reply ON THE FORUM. Ironside then wrote to Matey Boy via PM. Ironside has Moderator Status for blonde. And Matey Boy published THAT Private Message on the Forum too. Matey Boy, by the way, was complaining about a cancelled Freeroll. Matey Boys IP address traced him to.....Texas. A HUGE demand for Wm Hill Freeroll's in Texas, it seems..... So we thought, enough is enough. That's my right. The blondeites are fiercely protrective of this place. Any more questions sunshine? By the way, the preface of yurah's e-address? "yurahnasso." We have nothing to hide. Everything has been laid out, in public, up front. Take it or leave it, my good, but bravely anonymous, friend. I am forever indebted to Ironside for his help & support of blonde. I am dead busy, at times I cant keep an eye on the Forum, he helps out. For free. And we shall add a few more moderators soon. He gets slagged off something shocking at times, on blonde's behalf, but he's a big man, and a strong man, and a brave man. I have no problem saying that. He's a hero of mine, and an example to all of use. Title: Re: William Hill is linked directly to this forum Post by: I KNOW IT on August 06, 2005, 07:29:46 PM have you got a little icon which i can put next to my postings which says " only joking by the way ", as I know i get confused with being serious at times.

I am afraid it's impossible to employ webmasters and reporters (such as Jen) without some financial help. The blondepoker website and forum has to break even to survive. I would like to thank William Hill for their support in helping us achieve this. Anyone can see we also carry adverts and affiliate links for many other poker sites such as universitypokerleague.com . All of these are here on blondepoker, so that blondepoker site can survive and eventually even make a profit. When items have been deleted from this forum, it is not because of what they said, it is because of the way it was said. Unforunately some people seem to have say things in a nasty bitter fashion. The threads then tend to degenerate into slanging matches that often stretch the truth. The majority of the members don't want this, and Tony and I definately do not want this. The objective was to make people smile. :) Title: Re: William Hill is linked directly to this forum Post by: Robert HM on August 08, 2005, 12:59:43 AM ---------> ;D <------------ |
