One twist in a movie is good and keeps people guessing; if you have to make two or three twists, then it's usually a substitute for actually thinking the plot through. (E.g. 'Wild Things', in which the last hour of the film actually made a nonsense of the first hour, or 'Unbreakable', which I think similarly undoes a lot of the good work of the first hour of the film with a big end-of-movie revelation). |
