"There goes five grand..."
Title: Re: The Vic Main Event - Day One Live Update Post by: Djinn on June 24, 2006, 01:59:02 AM Elsewhere, Mike Magee takes a big hit on an odd sort of hand against Ivar Rivenaes (anyone know this gentleman? He has impressive glasses, pic coming).
Mike raised to 700 preflop, getting Ivar and Marc as callers. Flop 6d 5h Qh. Marc checked, Mike bet 2,500, Ivar called and Mr. Cool got out of the way. Turn: 3c Mike bets a big 6,000 and gets instacalled. River: 3d Now Mike checks and Ivar moves in for 6,200 - eventually Mike calls. So what do they have? Well, Ivar shows Qc Kc. And Mike mucks, so I guess we'll never know for sure... Enjoying the coverage from Las Vegas Just watched Antonius win 120k in 20 minutes heads up online. Hes out with girlfriend and im on his laptop hoping a little of the genius rubs off.Its baking hot here and the Bellagio and Rio are filling up. Torren Nichols is in the cash game and the queue is long. Spotted ex Rangers star Colin Hendry playing roulette. Nice guy , had a chat with him. Seen Victor Ramdin, Paul Darden, Chris Ferguson, Gavin Smith amongst others as the players descend on here for WSOP. Rumour has it Dave Shallow is coming to play. Can you tell Ryan Fronda 'greetings from Bulgaria' and ask Iwan Jones 'what are my options.'? Title: Re: The Vic Main Event - Day One Live Update Post by: Djinn on June 24, 2006, 02:36:01 AM Here's Keir Fitzgibbon, relaxing in the temporary space which has appeared on either side of him due to the recent elimination surge. Tikay has the latest...

Can you tell Ryan Fronda 'greetings from Bulgaria' and ask Iwan Jones 'what are my options.'? Will do... by the way, you're in Las Vegas, and the most fun thing you've found to do is play online on someone else's laptop? I recommend the New York New York rollercoaster, perhaps followed by steak... they have this giant fridge there all full of steak - I am going to look for a picture of me in front of it (totally off topic, but amuses me greatly)... And in the background you can still see Julian, who's now been replaced with Scott Fischman. Not a particularly desirable seat, to be honest. Scott's, not Mark's.

Look who else is wearing a hat (and this, by the way, is the answer to the earlier Dave's Neighbour Quiz) - Michael Greco. And I tried to get a good intense staring picture of El Blondie, but managed to get that split second blinking moment. What a pro.

Title: Re: The Vic Main Event - Day One Live Update Post by: Djinn on June 24, 2006, 03:05:03 AM How many left? What time do they finish tonight? 27 players left, intention is to play until the end of this level (half an hour), or the very unlikely event of there only remaining 9 players before that time should arrive. Title: Re: The Vic Main Event - Day One Live Update Post by: Djinn on June 24, 2006, 03:08:23 AM Here were lined up Julian Gardner, Online qualifier (and large stack owner) Ryan Fronda, and Osman Mustanoglu. Left to right. But they broke another table and now they're all intermingled differently. Will get full counts when they finish for the day.
