England are pants, they are now down to 1 foward and have proven they cant defend.

Ecuador are high on confidence, have nothing to lose and will run like mad for 90 minutes.

And its 5.2!!! What cracking value!

Just have to hope 1 of Lampards pot-shots doesnt find its way in! How many shots has he had so far this world cup? I think he must be nearing the 30 mark, if so he is due 1!

It's also 35C and thats not in a stadium

I want England to win but could not resist a cheeky £5 @ 300/1 for Ecuador to win 3.0

Regards

M

Lampard has had 18 shots this tournament, most high and wide

Add to this the number of missed penalties and you do see the ball having an efffect

I think we might fluff this against Ecuadors work ethic and our abysmal second half ( mandatory ).

I did but having watched the game i am damn happy to have made a +EV bet! England scraped through, Ecuador were better than 5.2!

Ecuador lacked any belief and amibition and their only real opportunity came from a John Terry mistake. It's not like Ecuador dominated the game and England stole an unlikely winner. Yes England "yet again" scrapped though but it's never easy to look impressive against negative teams.

The fact is England have made the final 8 and still have an oppuntunity to win the world cup. It's easy to be negative but I'm an optimist. At least we still have a chance. I suspect Holland and the Czech Republic would gladly swap positions.

Final 8 - and not much of one if they continue to play the way they are...........

Thank you for highlighting my mistake. A chance is still a chance or do you give up in a game of poker when outchipped???.

Nope, never give up - and the proof is in a thread from a MTT a few weeks back:

However now that England will be facing better opposition in the next few games they will need to step up their game if they are to avoid being outclassed.

I fully agree England need to improve to progress against better opposition and I am still concerned by the negative tactics of Sven especially when we take a 1-0 lead. I do however not right off our chances like others so quickly do because I believe we can compete at a higher level. Our performance against Argentina surely demonstrated this.

It's the knockout stages and anything can happen.

I would just like to see Gerrard and Lampard play anything like their club form once (or twice).

They have both looked like pale shadows of themselves.

I think Lampard is using Gary Neville's shooting boots!! :D

If we do happen to go far in the comp it will be inspite of Sven, not because of him - I was screaming at the tele to get lennon on at least ten minutes before he did - that was a perfect situation for him. An outlet, a threat of a second and with no added risk by removing someone who obviously had no energy (or contents of stomach) left!

Agreed - they should be the key to our campaign but instead they are passengers.
