Anyone know the latest from Luton? Think they were scheduled to restart today at 2.30pm...

I was still on the phone to James at 2:40, sounded like they were just about to start, no update though as of yet here.

James just called, bad line so didn't get all the details clearly but the bottom line is he's out in 12th!!! I will try to talk to him again soon to update properly, but understandably he isn't really in a chatty mood right now.

Willie Tann is on approx 160K, Tikay and Jen on about 40k. Phil Cooklin is out in approx 14th with JJ vs AA.

Well that was fun!!!

I was up to 140k, Paul Alterman had just got lucky and got up to 80k.

It was 1500-3000 i had been raising and showing big hands, i raise to 8000 with QJ, he called in the BB.

Flop came AAQ rainbow. He checked and i was thinking the best way to represent the ace, i bet 6000 hoping he would raise so i could make a move on him, he reaches back and plonks 20,000 in. At this point i instantly move back all in, he calls, and shows A6.

I was suprised he called with just a 6 kicker but there we go.

Next hand i had ATs Willie Tann raised for the 3000th time, i moved in for 50k (stupid now i think about it) he called with AQ, and thats how you go from the Chip Lead to out in 2 hands!!!

Well done Jen!!

The most enjoyable time in this tournament for me was when it was about 3 am with 5 tables left and myself and Jen took it in turns to move all in to just pick up enough to survive!!!

Am really happy for you Jen, well done!!

Wow somehow you all got updated regardless of me.... feel a bit redundant.  But pretty chuffed, to be honest.  They gave me some kind of giant crystal fruit bowl.  Cool.  Well played to everyone I had the honour of sitting next to or having my blind stolen by.  Thanks so much to you lot - I wouldn't even have entered this comp if it weren't for blonde.

Tip of the day - don't show up late.

Just caught up on this - WELL DONE Jen - next time we are having a chat you will have to teach me how its done. Oh and let TK in on the secret as well. Alternatively you play the events and TK can sit cramped up in the corner banging out the updates. See you at the Weekend. Steve

Great job Jen.

I went to Luton yesterday to play the satellite for the 500.  When I arrived, Tikay told me you were running late and that they were blinding you out every hand at the time.

Considering that you had this 'slight' hurdle to overcome when you arrived your achievement is nothing short of spectacular!  Well done.

Sheriff

Title: Re: Luton 200 Freezeout - day 2 updates...?
Post by: tikay on August 11, 2005, 02:45:18 AM

Spectacular? Just a bit!

Due to her late arrival - caused by others I may add - her overnight 52k had shrunk to 19k by the time she arrived.

I can't tell you how much this means to Jen, most especially all the support she has had. I'm struggling to come to terms with it myself too - I could not be happier for Jen. Dave was overwhelmed by it too.

She will get the respect she deserves as a player now, in addition to the respect we all hold her in as a person.

It's a fairy tale, a bloody dream come true.

Tikay just phoned me w/ the story about you being late, way to go again, I think DC and myself may need some lessons on the late arrival, calling THE CAMEL, and CHOPPING?????????

Very well done

Rookie
