Title: Suspicious OR Unlucky
Post by: mastersoul on June 30, 2006, 02:11:09 PM
Hiya all.
Not posted on here for a long time (Mainly down to Laziness!) but regularly check the forum for the latest banter/poker news etc. My User on Blondepoker is ><)))o>

Just thought I'd seek your opinions really.
Ive just finished a $5 multi tourney on Virgin Poker (Mainly play on Blonde but like the 12 min level ups in this particular tourney)
Now I'm quite a tight player at the start of MTT's and on this occasion I had an awful run of cold cards for the first 50 mins. Think I played 2 hands in total raising with 10s and getting no callers and picking up a small pot with K7.

Id been windled down to about 950 chips or so (1500 start) with the big blind next hand of 100/50. I Passed both Big blind & Small blind with 2 all in's subsequently folding my hands. So now I was on 800 (A whole 9 hands to try and catch something worth playin/Pushin all in with) So what happens..
I get moved to another table, hand in progress, next hand ME On the big blind again! I was a bit gutted but got on with it, next 2 hands (BB/SB) 7/2os & J2os!!!

This put me on a hospital chip stack size of just 575!! (Blinds now increased to 150/75) Oh well I thought, its all in or nothing now but again at least ive got a few hands to effectively hold on!! Hand on the button (49suited) folded to another all in and then, SWITCHED TABLE AGAIN!! And guess what, BB again with ace 3 suited!! ALL IN, 4 callers lost to trip 3s!!!

Now it obviously wasn't a good tourney for me, irrespective whether I played to defensively at the start resulting in that situation but it just seemed a lil fishy to me to why I was moved 3 times onto the BB. Now everyone else around myself were on 3-8k, blinds v small in comparison. I haven't experienced this on any other site. It got me thinking wether the software was effectively trying to blind me out so the tournament progressed quicker. Now I know online poker is safe an all from collusion etc but was this just very unlucky or a bit suspect?
Forgive me if Ive rambled on, No posts for 4 months and then this essay!!

Cheers guys/girls

Just unlucky. The game of poker has an infinite number of ways to wrong foot us. Or right foot us.

Think "motive" - why would the site wish to blind you away?

Well, I don't feel to bad now. Just finished 2nd in a $6 mtt! Although I do count myself unlucky considering I had him on the rocks twice before being beaten with all the chips in on both the turn & the river! Can't complain though, woulda taken 2nd at the start of the tournement if offered!  :D
