This World Cup has been pretty good, the Quarter finals have been a major disappointment Title: Re: Brazil fail in Europe, again! Title: Re: Brazil fail in Europe, again! Post by: bolt pp on July 01, 2006, 11:50:30 PM I wouldn't have fancied our chances against either of these, they way they played tonight, but for some reason Brazil going out seems to have eased my pain a little.

Post by: henrik777 on July 02, 2006, 01:25:53 AM french different class. brazil overall have been disappointed. 4 european sides left and wide open imo Portugal - Rubbish. France - Poor until tonight and they won't need to be that great to beat Portugal in the semi. Germany - Favourites to win the cup. Played the best so far. Italy - Boring and should have lost to the Aussies but they can defend so have a chance. 1st - Germany 2nd - France 3rd - Italy 4th - Portugal Sandy Title: Re: Brazil fail in Europe, again! Post by: Rooky9 on July 02, 2006, 02:03:13 AM What a day.
I have a policy of not watching big ganes in pubs, firstly because i do not subscribe to some drunken louts singing as being an atmoasphere, and secondly because i think it is hard to actually take the game in, in terms of a football contest. Never the less I found myself in the warmest headinley pub in the history of the earth, with all the cricket fans who had conceeded defent to the Sri lankains in cricket. What the hell went on in the game? My first thoughts are that for the first 11 minutes we were the better team and then waited until the sending off until we showed any heart, fight or bottle. Penalties..... i was loud in my apprisal pre taking that this was the time for our 'world class' player to step up and produce - they did not. I felt for caragher - what the hell do you do in that situation? The rest failed themselves......... Was it a sending off? Does it matter? Would we have beaten a semi finalist? I can only comment that literaally all the manager needs to do with engald is make the right subs at the right time.... he did not. I was up at 4am yesterday morning talking to myu flat mate about how if we were england boss we would have had james constasntly studying the pens and non stop practice, after our performances the only wat we would progress would be to win a shoot out with a big dominant keeper.... End of the day were are a top 8 team and no more... I can not feel as dissappinted as some, as I realise that it would only have been harsher in 4 days time.... Title: Re: Brazil fail in Europe, again! Post by: Scottish Dave on July 02, 2006, 11:13:38 AM clearly Portugal are going to win it now!
