Title: C.Ronaldo off to Real Madrid? Post by: The Baron on July 01, 2006, 11:19:14 PM SkySports.com has just quoted him after the England game saying the reports are true! Ferguson must be fuming after just issuing a denial yesterday!
How funny would it be if the real president he wants to win actually loses and he has to stay in England! :D Hairdryer methinks! Title: Re: C.Ronaldo off to Real Madrid? Post by: Nem on July 01, 2006, 11:49:49 PM " Cristiano Ronaldo has rocked Manchester United by admitting that reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid should Juan Miguel Villar Mir win the presidential elections on Sunday are true.
The Manchester United man made the revelation after scoring the penalty that knocked England out of the World Cup in Gelsenkirchen. Ronaldo was quoted earlier in the week as stating he had agreed to move to Spain if Villar Mir emerged victorious in the club's elections, but the report was dismissed by both United and manager Sir Alex Ferguson. However, Ronaldo has now shocked his employers after conceding that he is keen on a switch to Los Merengues. "Yes, they are true," he said when quizzed on the reports, adding later: "After the World Cup, I decide my life." Ronaldo now seems intent on securing a switch away from Old Trafford, but his relations with his team-mates would have been tetchy in any case after his performance in Germany. The winger courted unpopularity by appearing to demand a red card for United team-mate Wayne Rooney, who was dismissed after being adjudged to have stamped on Ricardo Carvalho. Rooney was incensed at the actions of Ronaldo and pushed the Portuguese youngster in the chest before being shown the red card. However, Ronaldo has now insisted that he did not seek an early bath for his club ally. "I complained to the referee about the foul but I didn't ask for a red card," Ronaldo added. Title: Re: C.Ronaldo off to Real Madrid? Post by: The Baron on July 01, 2006, 11:53:27 PM I wonder about United.
No Nistlerooy, no Ronaldo, seemingly no Carrick and Riquelme bid turned down! Rebuilding not going to plan. Title: Re: C.Ronaldo off to Real Madrid? Post by: Nem on July 01, 2006, 11:55:30 PM If Ronaldo leaves Man U, then they will have no chance of any silverware next season.
Their midfield next season, LOL. Title: Re: C.Ronaldo off to Real Madrid? Post by: Nem on July 01, 2006, 11:56:09 PM I wonder about United. Riquelme would be a great buy though. Title: Re: C.Ronaldo off to Real Madrid? Post by: Nem on July 02, 2006, 12:00:11 AM Timing LOL! Riquelme would be a great buy though. His style isnt suited to the English game IMO. Another Veron. Title: Re: C.Ronaldo off to Real Madrid? Post by: The Baron on July 02, 2006, 12:05:13 AM Timing LOL! Riquelme would be a great buy though. His style isnt suited to the English game IMO. Another Veron. Possibly. Benitez turned down Aimar for this exact reason. Title: Re: C.Ronaldo off to Real Madrid? Post by: Rooky9 on July 02, 2006, 02:13:37 AM IMHO he had made his mind up about wanting to leave before tonight and so his actions could only help him... I hate being in pubs on the basis that you miss the pundits.... but i gather shearer predicted rooney decking ronaldo on the first day back.... I think he has ensured that doesnt happen... Furguson may also now get to keep one of the best finishers in the games...Ronaldo can not socialse in england again and that alone will be enough to send him packing
