Title: Re: free pint.... Post by: leighton_87 on July 04, 2006, 09:41:35 PM I'm new to it as well but I think that you lay your money against someone elses bet. I.e. if you lay Italy to win you are saying they won't win. If you lay them for £2 at 6-1 and Italy win you will owe £12 but if its a draw or Germany win then you take the £2 stake. I think this is right can someone please comfirm or correct me.
cheers Andrew Title: Re: free pint.... Post by: rivered on July 04, 2006, 09:51:20 PM no thats right - you're basically becoming the bookmaker and offering the odds. So if you don't think portugal will win vs france, you could offer your mate say 3-1 odds - if he bets £1 and they don't win, you take his quid. if they do win, you owe him £3, plus his original bet. So you've laid portugal at 3-1.

But you can't lose if the player can't play. I also imagine bets to be void if he doesn't play though. Sandy Title: Re: free pint....
