Title: Stop Ronaldo
Post by: Indestructable on July 05, 2006, 10:13:20 PM
Just had this today:

"Stop Ronaldo from winning the young player of the tournament and get yourself over to

http://www.ProcessRequest.com/apps/redir.asp?link=XcehbcghCJ,ZchdaficghEA&oid=UeabjBE&iclitemid=YcdhcgjceDF&tid=WidgdhjDG

and vote for Luis Valencia of Ecuador (no, we haven't heard of him
either). He's currently just behind Ronaldo with 25% of the votes, and we'd love nothing more than to see the Portugese winker pipped at the post. Not that we're bitter or anything.

After you've voted, you'll be taken to the results page where can you see the current standings. Be quick though, voting closes today."

Surely poll rigging is further up the list of naughty things to do than eyelash batting?  :dontask: :dontask:

'tall seems a little hypocritical if you ask me.  :D

England are only looking for a Scape goat, its shocking that Ronaldo has to be treated like this by clowns that have no respect for talent.

it's a joke..the way the england supporters reacted.

Rooney kicked someone in the nuts!....with studs!

but people aren't mad at rooney ofcourse...that'd be silly. they also aren't mad at the rest of the players for hardly putting in any effort during the WC...they all blame Sven.

You see teams going to the WC thinking they can win it and they all fail every single time.

The only times Brazil won it was when noone fancied them. The same for the Italians.

every time certain people think they already have the WC won before they've even played a game...the  English players thought the same thing and that's what cost them.

you have no divine right to win a tournament..you have to work hard/ play hard and you need a bit of luck.
England weren't working hard enough and playing well enough to win it, it's that simple.

BTW...I'm not Scottish so have no problem with England winning it...I do have a problem with the whining people who always seem to think England are the only nation (Other then Brazil) who deserve to win the WC.

Yeah those Italian fans who threatened to kill the Korean player who put them out of the last world cup - they were honest people weren't they?

The Italian club he played for told him he didn't have a job anymore. They were nice people too, that manager and chairman.

Let's blame those English louts for everything! No one is a bad as them!

Italian fans are some of, if not thee, most racist fans in world football.

Di Canio does a Mussolini salute afte he scores FFS!

Of course, each nation has its nutty football fans that dont represent the rest of the country. With Italy its mostly the Lazio ultra's. As for the Korean, he was leaving anyway. Racisim in Southern Italian football is shocking, no denial there.

Di Canio isnt in the Italian team, he never was.

My point is the normally rational fans, i.e. most of the posters on this forum, have joined in some hate campaign. Trace is hardly a football hooligan yet she has a avatar of Rooney ripping of Ronaldo's head......that is my point.

Understood and fair point about the moderates, but I think Trace's post is more out of humour than a real hating of Ronaldo! (Although I could be wrong! LOL!)

I for one dislike Ronaldo after this world cup but its not because of the Rooney incident it is because of his constant diving and play acting thats ruining the game of football.  I'm obviously not saying that he is the only one doing it but he is doing it more times than anyone I have seen and on the biggest stage where the worlds eyes are on him.  I believe he is sending out the wrong message to footballers and fans everywhere.  The winner of young player of the tournament should be an ambassador of the future of football, I certainly don't want that to be the future of football.

for me the best young player of the tourney was the forward for ghana Asamoanh Gyan.
