My thinking is that he caught the 8. (89 to Q8)

I dont think he has a monster, and if he does he has taken a huge risk at not getting paid... though TT is perhaps a possibility here too

PM me the rest if your planning on waiting for a few.... I need to know what happened!

I was worried about him being on TT but thought he might have caught the 8. What I should have done, I think, is move all in. I didn't. Nor did I do the other possibly vaguely sensible thing and fold. No, as a result of a bad judgements in previous STT but not wanting to lay my hand down, I called.

Next card is a K. He pushes all in. What's your move now?

The 2 possibilities are that he was bluffing first time round, but has now caught a pair with the king.

Or he's bluffing both times and doesn't understand the need to be consistent - it's a shame you hadn't played a few more hands to see what was more likely.

In this circumstance I'd call, based on the fact that if he was bluffing both times and you fold, he'll never let go of a draw because he'll think he can bully you off the pot if needs be.

Obviously I didn't really mean they were the only 2 possibilities - just the 2 I think most likely

As soon as I'd called the flop I cursed myself. I fancied his chances of having a king were *fairly* minimal unless he was holding AK.  So I called his all in and he showed AQ. Naturally enough, Q came on the river. Not a bad beat story, it was my own fault for not pushing after the flop. I just wanted to know, as a novice to all of this, whether the all in push on the flop would have been the right play or whether anyone would have laid down.

I think either play would have been OK.

Well how many chips do you start with? I don't see how anyone can answer this without knowing that!

No, but the blinds seem to be 7-15, never seen that in a SNG before either. Is it 1000, 1500, 2000, that makes a huge diffrence.

Edited out the wrong info on crypto

OP,

(assuming 1500 stack) pushing the flop is ok.. calling the flop with the intention of calling a push on the turn is also OK (in fact, i think this is marginally the better play) folding the flop isn't such a great play. You have no reason to think you are behind, the guys in these tournies aren't so tight that they need to wait for 10/10 or better before getting their stack in, so you figure to have the best hand here a high % of the time.

Sorry it didn't work out

Totalise, that's an interesting view; I thought I'd played it all wrong. Maybe I played it right for the wrong reasons  :blonde:

Ok sow ith 1k in chips once you call his flop bet there is 900 in the middle and you have 595 back. I would probably just push the flop here, he is nearly getting the correct price to draw if he knows your cards and i am deffo happy enough to be taking this pot down if i can. If he calls its not the end of the day as he is still making a mistake.
