Title: Some basic Omaha help
Post by: Woodsey on July 08, 2006, 10:41:01 AM
I'm going to have a go at omaha for first time this weekend. Can anyone recommend any sites that give me the very basic jist of how to play, or any general advice. I think I'll use play money to start with just to be safe cus I really have no clue what I'm doing!

Just remember , a good hand is all 4 (assuming you are playing 4 card) cards working together. (ie 9c 9s 10c Js)
Dont get married to hands like Ac Ah 5d 10s - Here you have AA and nothing else

Post flop is more important

Be VERY wary of a paired board - be prepared to lay down nut flush to a big bet on a board like this, chances are FH is out there somewhere.

Marc Goodwin wrote a great guide to Omaha in the July issue of Poker Player. Well worth a read
