Title: Exit hand from Pot Limit rebuy tourney. Post by: BigTomatoes on July 09, 2006, 09:32:44 AM I played in a 5 pound rebuy last night at the wabash club in Glasgow. after the rebuy period ( 1hr 45 mins ) i had amassed 33,000 chips in level 4 - blinds were 400/800 average chips were 12,000 and i think there was only 1 other guy with more than me - about 40,000 anyway this was my exit hand. On the button - there are 2 limpers - UTG and UTG + 1 action on me i pick up Qh Qc i bet the pot to try and clear out a couple of players - both limpers call. flop is 6h 8c Th - UTG checks - UTG + 1 moves all in for 8,000. im sure i have the best hand cos he is loose aggressive and is in a lot of pots with drawing hands, middle pair etc. my first reaction was to flat call, then I seen UTG counting out his chips as if he was gonna stay in the hand. so at this point I had 28,000 left and faced an all-in of 8,000 instead of flat calling I decided to push all in for another 20,000 UTG counts his chips down and makes the call with Ahrt 9h , the original bettor had 5s 6c !!!! - bottom pair no draw. anway turn is the Ac, river 6s and im gone. UTG had an overcard, flush draw and middle pin straight draw so I would probably have called here anyway. I thought about the hand on the drive home and feel i could have played it differently. i now think the best action would have been to smooth call the all in, see what came on the turn, no heart, overcard or straight cards and then move in cos its a lot harder for UTG to call just about all his chips with 1 card to come. and if he re raised after the flat call i could have put him on 10 10 or 8 8 etc and got away from the hand. any opinions on how i played it, how i should have played it for future or was it just a case of 2 big hands clashing and getting outdrawn ? this has been niggling me all night. cheers Big T Title: Re: Exit hand from Pot Limit rebuy tourney. Post by: cambo on July 09, 2006, 02:24:49 PM alright mate it was myself you were talkin to about cincins when you got moved to my table, i think the right play here is to flat call his all in, as u said it gives you a chance to get away from the hand if a heart or ace comes i wouldnt be that bothered if a king came down on the turn, if the turn was a blank then you could move in and would be a big big decision for the guy to call for all his chips with one card left. i went out with queens v aces not long after you left, cant complain he had the best hand just annoyin cos ive no time for the guy who put me out ive clashed with him a few times there
