Title: Info thread Post by: RED-DOG on August 12, 2005, 02:07:14 PM Im starting this thread as an experiment, I miss loads of good stuff, satellites, qualifiers, guaranteed tourneys etc and I think it would be great if we had a place where we could let each other know about them
What Im afraid of is spammers posting "Satellite for wsop on www.muppetpoker.com, only 3 reg so far" then when you take a look, you find it starts in April 20006 So if you have any genuine info that you think will interest your fellow blondites, or you have an opinion about this thread, please post it here Title: Re: Info thread Post by: booder on August 12, 2005, 02:39:00 PM great idea red dog .............like many players i use 7 or 8 different sites and occasionally miss out on good tournys......the more info the better as far as i am concerned

"monkey boy" Title: Re: Info thread Post by: matt674 on August 12, 2005, 02:51:41 PM ......but on a more serious note - why not have a folder section underneath the "general discussion" where people can post their tournament news. This way people can go direct to that folder to find out upto date information without having to trawl through several pages of posts.

'our players always call when you've got the nuts!' This was suggested in another thread, not sure who by though <cough, cough>, i think even though the vote went against extra bits all over the place even Tikay thought this a good idea. I think the gist though was for ONLINE tourny's, sats etc. Dik9 ;D Ian Title: Re: Info thread Post by: RED-DOG on August 12, 2005, 03:07:35 PM FREE ADVERTISING.....I LIKE !!! Title: Re: Info thread Post by: thediceman on August 12, 2005, 03:48:22 PM I started reading this post and thought to myself I'm sure it was me who had orginally suggested this sometime ago but thought that nobody would believe me as IMF has already claimed that honour. I therefore (thinking I'm going mad) checked the old threads and found that I posted the following in the Re: British Poker Open thread on: 12 April 2005, 02:09:35.
"Mods aka Tikay, any chance of having a fixed topic re: sat's for main tournaments so we can tip eachother of about what the various sites are offering at any given time." Guess we must of had the same idea IMF. I recall Tikay saying great idea and he would look into sorting something out. Guess he is still looking. The old bloke has been very busy these last few weeks, but he did say he was interested in something like this, (probably prompted by yourself and IFM) so I thought I would start a thread to see what happened It has already been benificial to me because I will go and play a satellite or two at the Broadway I have also learned that I should stay away from IFM for a while, he has a very nasty cough! I DID say it was a great idea, & I have NOT sorted it yet, but I WILL. As Red-Dog says, the last few weeks have been a bit frantic, & I am behind with all sorts of things, drowning actually. But after this weekend, things calm down a tad. We WILL have the Section you guys have suggested - it's a truly great idea. PS - What, in the context of this thread, is a "folder" please? (Anyone who says a folder who is someone who passes their hand gets a Yellow Card). Title: Re: Info thread Post by: matt674 on August 12, 2005, 11:34:47 PM PS - What, in the context of this thread, is a "folder" please? (Anyone who says a folder who is someone who passes their hand gets a Yellow Card). New to the site so didnt realize that this idea had already been suggested when i made my post. When i mentioned the word "folder" in my post i meant it as follows. When i first signed in it appeared as though there were two folders "live tournament reports" and "general catagory". if another sub-folder entitled something like "forthcoming events" or similar is put in either section then people would know where to go to find out information rather than having to keep trawling through page upon page of other posts to find threads like this. It also means that people who maybe dont sign in for a day or so will miss anything and have to rely on people continually posting replies on a thread to keep it on page 1. "monkey boy" p.s. thanks to BigArmo for pointing me in the direction of this forum - makes a change to read some posts about poker on a poker forum unlike a few other's i've seen recently. keep up the good work all. |
