Title: Introduction Post by: DirtyAce on July 22, 2006, 06:24:58 PM Hi there everyone.
My name's Jon and I, along with each and every one of you, absolutely love playing poker. I started playing poker around a year and a half ago after seeing a BoDog Tv ad while I was watching a live stream of a UFC event hehe, I thought I will check this out ! As some time passed I started to take the game more seriously and started playing for real money, I previously just played play rooms on PokerRoom. After a little bit of progression I felt it was time to find a live game and I did so in a local bar who held one every tuesday. At my very first appearence in this live game I astonishingly made the final table, I didnt even know what position was at this point, only to be busted out by WeeTomatoes. Shortly thereafter I began taking it so seriously that I invested a great deal of time and money in several books, of which I owe a lot to, including but not limited to; Harrington on Holdem, Some sklansky material and Supersystem. The above publications allowed me to really progress as a poker player, understanding certain important situations that I never knew existed. I started cashing in the live game regularly and have now won it 4 times. That alongside really good performances online have really cemented my belief that I can and will be a great poker player. At this moment in time I not only play No Limit Holdem, but also really enjoy Pot Limit Omaha and 7 Card Stud but mostly I like to play a lot of NLHE cash tables on William Hill, and regularly play tournaments on the iPoker network and PokerStars. Im pretty sure I registered here several months back but Im assuming my username was closed due to inactivity as I couldnt seem to login, but I just registered again, hope that's cool. Im very much looking forward to the BB3 where Myself, TheFuture and both Tomatos hope to stir things up a little and have a great, great time with you all. -Jon Title: Re: Introduction Post by: TightEnd on July 22, 2006, 06:33:05 PM Hi Jon

Title: Re: Introduction Post by: AdamM on July 22, 2006, 08:50:49 PM Hi Jon. Welcome to blonde.
I share your interest in UFC as well as poker. keep your eye out for the various boxing / fighting threads in the sports / betting section of the board. it comes up now and again. Mike Bisbing v Chuck Lidell before the end of 2007. fancy that? Title: Re: Introduction Post by: DirtyAce on July 22, 2006, 10:34:46 PM Hi Adam,
Well it's not as far fetched as it sounds for 2 reasons; Bisping will need a year+ to get to a really competitive level and Chuck will have fallen from the top by then, Wandy Silva will kill him. Bisping may perhaps meet him while climbing the ladder, while Chuck is coming down the ladder . . Title: Re: Introduction Post by: AdamM on July 22, 2006, 10:48:46 PM I think more like this
Chuck beats Silva (what a tear up that'll be) after seeing off babaloo next month (if he can stay on his feet). there is somesort of qualifier (UFC 63 maybe) between Michael Bisbing and Forest Griffin, the winner of which takes on Chuck for the title (UFC 65). I genuinely think Bisbing has what it takes to dominate the light heavyweight division. Title: Re: Introduction Post by: Gryff on July 22, 2006, 10:51:15 PM I'm into UFC as well, we should try our hands at lines in the betting forums ;)
Title: Re: Introduction Post by: DirtyAce on July 22, 2006, 10:52:45 PM I think Bisping has what it takes aswell mate, without a shadow of a doubt .. flying the british flag.
Shame about Lee Murray though . . what a waste of a talent. Title: Re: Introduction Post by: AdamM on July 22, 2006, 10:55:23 PM indeed.
so tell us about yourself Title: Re: Introduction Post by: AdamM on July 22, 2006, 10:58:14 PM I'm into UFC as well, we should try our hands at lines in the betting forums ;) I got half way through that sentence and thought it was going to be a suggestion of a sparring session at the Blonde bash actually, BB4, where ever that ends up being, (possibly DTD ;-) ) we could find a gym and put on a Blonde charity boxing / kickboxing session Title: Re: Introduction Post by: Sark79 on July 23, 2006, 12:14:12 AM Hi mate, welcome to Blonde

Plus I don't even play there yet lol. I'm an online hero. Title: Re: Introduction Post by: AdamM on July 23, 2006, 12:13:41 PM wouldnt be the first time I've given away 7 stone in a fight. Remember the early UFCs without weight classes. Royce Gracie proved size and weight 'advantages' were overcomable(??) I'm one of three instructor in a Kickboxing/freestyle/street martial arts group. Im 5'9" and 11st. the other two are 6'2" 16st and 6'3" 19st. the latter is the chief instructor and has been training 25+ years. I make sure I get regular sparring sessions against him because after fighting him semi/heavy contact it's hard to be intimidated by anyone infront of me.
The Blonde kickboxing session will never happen. I'd had a couple of beers last niht when I suggested it but the risk of injury with a dozen untrained fighters sparring with people they hardly know sounds like an insurance nightmare. perhaps we'd better stick to talking about fighting. maybe we need a 'general boxing/fighting' discussion thread. Title: Re: Introduction Post by: Indestructable on July 23, 2006, 12:24:39 PM I have just watched Karate Kid 3 and ready to take on all comers. :D
