Any updates on this?  I can't check if it's been listed yet as I'm at work.  Would like to know if it's going ahead because if it ain't I'll be off to the pub this evening!

I don't want to risk it until I know it is off!  Will be gutted if I get home to find it has been sorted!

Have Bowmans said what the problem is?  is it not simply a case of them setting up a tournament for us tonight with the same structure as the cancelled one last night?

It's two hours to go and it's not up.

Probably, this means that it won't be on, as it can't be guaranteed now that everyone will play. i.e. it won't be on, for just the reason that Claw says, namely that too many people will be gutted if they go out now and come back to find that it was put on at the last minute.

I'm still thinking positively and hoping that no news is good news!  Leaving the office in 5 mins and hoping to find it up for registration when I get home!

just a thought - has anyone tried pinging the manager innocently explaining that they're looking for the game that has been advertised?  might be a quick way to get a 'it's cancelled' or 'we're working on getting it up' answer one way or the other....

Problem is, we don't know how much Bowman's knows about this 'rescheduled' affair, I can just picture us trying to explain it all to some bemused Bowman's worker who maintains that the tourney is always on a Monday, and what are we talking about anyway? :dontask:

Again guys I have to apologise. I'm so hacked off it is untrue.

The league was scheduled for 12 events, advertised for 12 events and it will be 12 events. Simple as that really.

Event #12 was originally meant to be a Monday at 8PM (before we knew about the downtime) so my initial thought is to reschedule it for next Monday.

The final is a bit easier to sort out as I only have to keep the final 9 players happy. So that can be done as and when we know the final 9 and their availabilty.

Again, my sincerest apologies. News to follow.

Aaron has apologised, but in fact he did nothing wrong. He hustled & bustled to get this set up weeks ago, & for reasone outwith his or our control, it went wrong.

On behalf of blonde, I won't give you any excuses, just "sorry". (And if you think Aaron is a civil guy, you should see his "letting off stem" e-Mail to Bowmans.....)

But it did highlight an organisational "hole" in our system, which I'm attempting to fix immediately.

I hope no-one thought from my statement as being derogatory towards Baron; just rereading it now it is perhaps a tad brusque and could therefore be interpreted that way. I simply meant that Baron, being in Vegas, maybe was not in a position to sort the game out today - or at least not in as good a position as he normally is (if you see what I mean?)

In any case, I would say I hope Baron is enjoying himself out in Vegas and not worrying overly about the league, I for one don't mind a little breather (it will give me a chance perhaps to actually remember how to play poker...) :)up
