Title: Writing a torrent to DVD so it works on a dvd player Post by: Newmanseye on July 27, 2006, 12:25:29 PM ok I'm totally new to dowmnloading movies and I wanted to write it to DVD, but I am unsure if I just write the torrent files i have completed and it wil automatically work or will I need extra software.
Its a cpmplete tube question I know bu I really have no idea. Title: Re: Writing a torrent to DVD so it works on a dvd player Post by: Graham C on July 27, 2006, 12:33:02 PM It depends on what type of file you are downloading and what types of files your dvd player will play.
If it's an avi file and your player won't play them, a program called winavi will convert them to dvd files. Really depends on what types of files you are getting. Got anymore info? I watch all of my downloads on my PC so I'm not too sure how to do it myself the 'correct way'. I mainly use Nero when I do occasionally burn films off, but tbh I have never tried them in a DVD player, but from what I have heard it will do the job.
I may be way off the mark, but don't you also need to have certain files in the downloaded torrent? .bin and .cue files? I would also like to know the proper way of doing this, to get my PC back from the kids always watching DVDs on it! lol Title: Re: Writing a torrent to DVD so it works on a dvd player Post by: Ginger on July 27, 2006, 12:47:59 PM [NewTorrents.info]_The.Breakup.2006.TS.xVID-LRC does that info help Loved this film!!!! But, of course this would be only be a backup of an original copy that you own, that you went forward in time to get, as you wouldn't want to do anything illegal, would you ;) Title: Re: Writing a torrent to DVD so it works on a dvd player Post by: Newmanseye on July 27, 2006, 12:49:04 PM its a copy of a mates home movie !! honest :D

Title: Re: Writing a torrent to DVD so it works on a dvd player Post by: mikkyT on July 27, 2006, 01:27:35 PM It all depends on what file you downloaded?
Did you download a movie file such as an mpg or avi? If so then you will need some conversion software to convert to DVD format. The latest version of nero does this for you when burning to disc (it even lets you add your own funky title menu). If you downloaded a DVDRip then you should have everything you need to burn the files directly to a dvd disc - but I'd make sure first, I haven't done any DVDRips because they are usually 4gb downloads.
