Down to Londinium on Thursday next week for a couple of meetings.

Got a few questions about the Gutshot.

• Where is it?
• Do you have to be a member?
• If yes can you join & then play on the same night, or is it like a casino (24 hours later)?
• What games are on on a Thurday night?

Cheers in advance (if for nothing more than it'll give me an excuse to ditch the boss, a night drinking with him & I'll be up for murder or sacked!!))

You have to be a member, but can enrol on the day and play straight away, bring passport fo ID. I think Thursday is £50 freezeout, but site has schedule.

not sure the deep fried mars bars are on the menu tho~!!!

Deep fried mars bars are a yorkshire invention. It's deep fried (and battered!!!) Pizzas, sausages, haggis, pretty much anything, which pisses me off.

If I ask for a sausage supper, I expect to recieve a sausage supper - not a greasy lump of batter! If I want a battered pizza, I'd have asked for one! Crazy scots...

Let me know how you get on, I want to get over there one Saturday to have a go, but am a bit worried about going as a girlie on me own - not that I am usually funny about such things, but I am a bit trepidous.

My other half has gone and got himself a season ticket for his team up north, so that means at least two weekends a month are free now, so instead of sitting around on my arse getting bad beats in the privacy of my own home, I have decided that I might as well feck up in the company of others :)

There are quite a few female players there. Nothing intimidating and usually great fun.

As for the food comments, the grub there is of a high standard and good value, try their burger with chips!

Heid, there's absolutely no need to be "trepidous" (not in my dictionary, but I get your drift!!) about being a lady going to gutshot on their own....lots of ladies play there including the very successful Sue Jones and the WSOP heroine Tiffany Williamson.

Therein ends my short stint as gutshot rep!

Hmm Tight End, like that, we can all turn up in shirts and hats and stuff, we will have to find out how that is getting on. Actually saw Nick Persuad, a gutshot regular wearing blondepoker.com hat on Poker 425 the other day, he waqs at the Luton Event.

As for Es ironside, be careful, there is a bigger problem then usual with Ecstacy in Yorkshire at the moment, they are rubbing powdered version of the stuff inside their lips. It's called "E by Gum"  ;D

Scary person, wasn't trepanning the word used when quack doctors driledl through a man's skull to let out the evil spirits that made him unwell. Mining engineers had trepanners which were like huge drill bits which cut through coal seams.

If you have skull drilling on the brain (yes I meant to say that) we will perhaps met you with trepidation.

I was watching a TV prog on Ch5 last night while baiting Bob on Laddies, and a guy in Australia had to have it done when he was injured playing that ludicrous Aussie rules football.

Car crash telly really - the show was called DIY Surgery<g>.

Don't even get me started on the poor bloke who got his arm stuck in a winch on his fishing boat when he was on it alone -yuck!

I thoroughly recommend Gutshot if you fancy a nice, relaxing, poker evening with friends. And the chips (fried version) are scrumptous.

A blonde evening at Gutshot? I got no probs with that, if it was an informal thing, but finding a space in the diary is getting VERY awkward....

By chance, I sorta half agreed to have a session there next Wednesday night with Jen, I am in London for 425, & we need to hook up to sort out some blonde business (agreeing the blonde Live Update Schedule for the rest of 2005), so she & I are likely to be playing at Gutshot on Wednesday night, all being well.

And (SPAM ALERT) I will be playing in the SportingOdds.com London Masters, on 1st October at Gutshot, thanks to Sporting Odds.com, who have very kindly & generously (and one might add, naively) sponsored me in that on a one-off basis for that comp. I'm in danger of becoming  bit of a Garry Bush-type  shirt whore, that's three "one-offs" so far, as I also got lucky in getting one off deals with Poker 425 at Gutshot, & Wm Hill in Vegas.  The fact that they only sponsor me the once speaks volumes about my ability.......

I usually use the Barbican tube station.

Yep, i agree, Barbican is the nearest tube station just come out of there turn left walk 200 yards and turn left again into clerkenwell road you really cant miss it!

The burger there is out of this world.....words cannot describe its worth the trip there just to eat!!
