I note that Blue Square.com are doing an online qualifier to the Grosvenor Grand Prix tonight, sadly I shall be at Sheffield so cannot play this one. But only 4 entries so far - even Ariston would have a chance of a Top Three finish in THAT.....

Any blondeites intending to have a bash? I think it's £100.

We really MUST start some sort of system whereby blondeites alert each other to these sort of situations.

I believe someone suggested this recently - please remind me.....

I really am trying to cope with all your excellent (& not so excellent - we have to ignore Red-Dog) suggestions, but time is my enemy right now, had a "bit of a week"......

This is on blue square each friday from now untill eternity.....or the grand prix, whichever comes first.

I was going to play it but given my last 2 days, i won a tourney 3 days ago and came 5th in yeasterday and i am DOWN on my last 3 days, i dont think i really feel like it

They are doing daily £10 super satellite qualifers to the Friday £100 qualifer also, can't have been many entries this week then...

Royal Flush/James. Been blown over again this week, sorry - did I ever thank you for your help at Luton? You were terrific, thank you very much. One way & another, it was a horrible wekend in some respects, but to see you & Jen enthusiastically pressing on wiith the updates - quality updates too - was inspiring. The site had fallen over, the Vodafone dubree was flaky, but you two overcame all the obstacles & got the job done. I will always be in your debt.

Now, having been all sucky wucky to you, what are you doing on the Saturday of the EPT at The Vic?......Hehe.....

Here are the details.

Mon-Thursday - £10 rebuy qualifiers at 9.15pm (BST) for the Friday £100 qualifier
Friday - £100 rebuy qualifers at 9.15pm (BST)

They run every Friday until October 7th.  Later on the qualifiers will be quite frantic so it is adviseable to try to qualify early. All online qualifiers require a minimum of 9 players in order for them to go ahead.  So far 4 people are registered for tonight's opener.

Don't forget that 15% of the field will qualify for the prize. So with 9 people thats 1.35 prizes. Hmm, how do I claim 0.35 of a prize? ;) 14 people required for 2 prizes.

* Online qualifiers require a minimum of 9 players in order to start.

One other thing to note - when the required number of players is reached, unlike the qualifiers in the casinos, play will not be stopped automatically, but there is nothing to be gained from finishing higher than another qualifiying player, so you might as well go all in once you've got down to the required number.

Although we had all those problems it made it a bit more exciting, lol, i love the unpredictable! (like writing up 30+ chip counts then having it all lost!)

As for the vic, if you are serious i would love to help again, if i cant be playing an event like that then i want to be reporting on it, i love being close to the action. I am planning on the Gutshot main event on the Saturday also, but i will be happy to help on the Friday and the Sunday (unless i get lucky).

2nd hand of my comp, i get aces in mid position, i raise to 200 and get one caller flop QAA lol  bloke goes all in , with KQ and i get a nice early double up :)

stu, its % of the field, not the money.  -the excess money goes into the prize pool.  We are playing for 3 seats and this particular heat will generate a guarenteed overspill to the prize pool, with additional overspill coming from the rebuys.

into the prize pool.  It doesn't matter how much money it makes for qualifying purposes. - because there were 20 entrants there are 3 seats (15% of the field). Any additional rebuys now go into the overall prize fund and wont get paid out until then.

So if you think about it its better to qualify online as there will be less rebuys than at the live cardrooms , am I correct ?

Not really sure stu. all i know is apart from staying in the comp, there is less value in rebuying as you may be pumping the pot up for a comp you may not end up qualifying for - remember you can't buy in to this event!

tried to rebuy but it timed out on me.  On reflection, i think the correct strategy is not to rebuy online.  If you have driven 70 miles to walsall then it might be the best strategy but when i am sat at home then i won't bother.

The only GP tournament you played in (19/08/05) you finished second and as shown on the registration screen only first place is given a seat.

What's the situation. Are they telling u that u haven't qualified for an event that you swore had 2 places available.

Thats unreal, it clearly stated 15% of the entry would get seats, and you and the other fella were both sure of this and were going all in every hand ....  Dont accept it, im sure they will sort it out.

Well as you mention it yes im going to Barca I came second in the Betfair sat last night for the EPT but I was going anyway and I will be there from the 10th playing most the touneys. Also playing at Star City on the 7-8th Sept. I can't do week one in Barca, am in Athens 7th to 9th, then the Broadway on the Saturday - my birthday! I fly to Barca on the second Thursday, & stay for the EPT. I can't play the EPT as Jen is on holiday, so I wil be Live Updating. Time you won a biggie Stu, we were with you from Day One, & nobody will be happier & prouder than me when you do it.

Foxy, I wouldn't worry about the GP.  Its very simple - 15% of the field get in.  there were 3 seats available in this heat.  I spoke to Jon Raab the day of the comp to check out the details and he confirmed that if there were 9 runners it would go ahead (there were 21 so no prob there) and that 15% of the field would qualify.  The C/S person who mailed you doesn't know the rules - pure and simple.  Take it from me - your in!

Kinda incredible though that he would get this e-mail.

These sort of things seem to be happening all too frequently wth online poker and their customer services.

All sorted - misunderstanding by one of our CS guys. Stu is in the Grand Prix. Have had words with CS about it. Sorry for the confusion. It won't happen again.
