Title: stud hand
Post by: Ironside on August 02, 2006, 07:03:51 PM
your playing Limit stud high only and get rolled up jacks

the only reansonable player on the table is chip leader in comp only playing premium hands and premium drawing hands

the guy on his right brings in and he completes showing a King you obviously raise and he flat calls

when 4street brings you a king and him a 4 you raise and he reraises

how do you play the rest of the hand?

Why do I obviously raise on 3rd? Wouldn't a call disguise my rolled up hand better?

Anyway, I have one of his kings on 4th, I must be ahead, and having raised 3rd with J-K up I'm first to act:

1) Bet the hand all the way -

Unless his board become very scary... in which case maybe I wouldn't. Unless I also make a full house, in which case I would.

However - if I flat called on 3rd, I might try to:

2) Check, hoping he bets 4th (he is a good player, and would follow on from his completion), hopefully allowing me to check raise 5th Street for an extra bet.

Then I can proceed to bet the hell out of the hand from there.
