Title: Can Negreanu do it?
Post by: Indestructable on August 03, 2006, 05:05:31 PM
Looking at the current position he is looking pretty good. I would like a "name" to win this year and he allways seems a really nice guy. I am cheering him on, after any Blondeites of course.

I don't see why he can't do it there is still a helluva lot of poker to be played but I reckon he is in a great position.

Personally i reckon it would be a huge achievement for a "name" to come through a field of over 12,000 and win it.

Would like to see Hatchem go deep again.
Seems a genuine person, and results this year show last year wasn't a one off.

Would be some feat if he beat 12000 to win it.........

I have come to really like Daniel N. from following his video-blog during this WSOP.

I'm funking for him as well as all of the blondes.

There are still a couple of "others" in that I am anti-funking too.  ::)

id love to see him win it, he is a genuine guy.

Hatchem doesnt need to prove it, he has already made it to head up already this year (cant remember the event tho) and gone deep in a third, again another gent, and wouldnt mind it if he finalled

....at the end of the day tho, the one person who i want to win every tourney he enters....has got to be the main man...Mr Phillip Ivey!!!

As well as Bazza Boy and all other blondeites! ;D

Yep, I said in an earlier post that if someone other than a Blondite had to win, I wanted it to be Negreanu. He seems like a decent bloke and I haven't heard many people say otherwise.

I'm in agreement with the rest of the thread :D  I like Negreanu so should a Blonde not win it, Daniel's the man :)

Perhaps he'd become a Blonde, it would make things easier - Snoopy, have a word mate :D

Mr John Gale I believe is still well placed, & seems to be in great form. Good Luck to him & all Blondes still in the mix.

In a Bob the builder style response, can he do it, yes he can.

Will he do it, probably not.

Personally I think it would give the title of world champion so much more creditiblity if a well known player won rather than "it's a crapshhot, this unknown got lucky this year to win". Granted the latter title is probably the more accurate one considering the numbers that increasingly enter each year. :D

Is today day 3?

Title: Re: Can Negreanu do it?
Post by: Sark79 on August 04, 2006, 10:38:56 AM
I am not sure . Tomorrow is the first day all the players play at the same time.  1500 down to 600 people.

Tomorrow may be today, but then again it could be tomorrow. Who knows, I personally think today is tomorrow but I am often wrong, so it could be tomorrow.   In second thoughts, I am going to guess it is tomorrow.

I am confused. What was the question?

It was from carplayer, they always use tomorrow and today in their reports. It is difficult to work out what day it is they are talking about.

There is now a two part circuit interview with Phil Ivey if anyone is interested.

Ock bugger that...its asking me to download...then Install....then register for real Player!!!

Why cant websites just have a wee button, then you click to watch their video's? its so annoying

I didn't register.  Was there not a Accept/Decline icon?    I downloaded it a few months ago, it asked  me to register. I just clicked Decline registration.

No, there was just two bottons, saying Listen : 'MP3' or 'Real player', so i clicked Real Player, and it started to down load, but then it said i had to register with real player, then i said i had to install the real player to my computer....it was at this point i chucked it. as i say why cant i click a 'listen' button, and it just starts? i hate the internet!

I'm a bit behind on what's going on at the moment. Can someone tell me how many players are still left, what day we are on, how many get payed and what time do they start playing today?

Sorry for all the questions.

Cheers

personally, i would like to see a european take it down, but if not, daniel seems like a decent enough bloke. always comes accross very positive and friendly, which is great for poker.

I gotta say I would love Negreanu to do it (barring a blondite of course).  He just oozes genuineness and most importantly is not up his own backside.

I think day 3 starts at 8pm BST tonight as Sark has mentioned playing from 1400 down to 600, money starts at about 800.

8.30 tonight

money starts at 873, $14,500 each

top twelve win over $1,000,000

I saw that DN got a bucketload of chips by re-raising a postion raise all in with 69 off

Mateyboy calls and turns over AA

DN rivers a straight to bust him

Perhaps this is his year!!!

With that sort of luck, it could be his year. If only I had backed him.

It would be great to see Daniel win it.

He's done loads to promote poker through his openess and approachability and is definitely one of the superstars of poker who deserves everything he gets.

Wow... I played with Richard Gryko at the Gutshot festival earlier this year, and I was literally terrified to play a pot versus him (he was sat on my left). He has the composure and technique of a true poker genius, almost leaning over the table he was that much in control. Funny guy too. He's my idol! Now he is 3rd in chips at the WSOP main event. Best of luck to him. I'll be having a small bet when Blue Square reopens.

229 - Daniel Negreanu

Oh well, I guess that makes the answer no he can't do it.
Joe Hachem was also 238.
struggling to find many "names" left.
