When I hit Quads on the river I am scratching my noggan as how to get paid as much as possible, Any helpful advice on how to play the river, or any way i should have played the other streets a bit better? Post by: Boba Fett on August 05, 2006, 11:00:16 AM I dont think you were gonna get much more out of that hand unless someone has some kind of poket pair or the T. As you're out of position and first to act you're setting the price, I think if you bet any more than you did on the turn you lose your customer and on the river he's got you on at least a boat som you did well to get what you did out of him there.

imo ur turn bet was weak. u played 40c into $2 ish. i would be betting over a $1 here at least. on river i would often push all in when i hold 1 card to 4 of a kind. if u have built a nice pot then ppl with top pair often find it hard 2 fold (they read in supersystem that doyle said u cant put ppl on 4 of a kind :D) and the expect a chop. in this hand i dont think u can get more $$ on the river tho. Either... A. Your opponent has a ten, and will call any size of raise on the river. You checked in the big blind against many opponents. I don't think he has you on JJ, QQ, KK or AA in a million years. B. Your opponent does not have a ten, and will probably call no raise whatsoever. So I'll make the raise a much bigger one. Sure, you might make a buck or two when he has a five, but the few occasions when he calls an over-sized raise with the ten will more than compensate.
