Title: Jenson Button Post by: Graham C on August 06, 2006, 03:11:34 PM What a great result, anyone else watch the GP? Very exciting all the way through I thought.
Well raced Jenson, let's hope that's the first of many :) Title: Re: Jenson Button Post by: Jim-D on August 06, 2006, 03:14:56 PM So so pleased for him, He is an excellent driver but the cars reliability has let him down so many times.
Give him a stronger car and he will be a force in the coming years Title: Re: Jenson Button Post by: phoenix97 on August 06, 2006, 06:11:21 PM He only won because Alonso car broke
Title: Re: Jenson Button Post by: Jim-D on August 06, 2006, 07:23:19 PM He only won because Alonso car broke Maybe but he was catching him at over a second a lap before that, wether he could take him well we'll never know but either way a great drive to come from 14th. Title: Re: Jenson Button Post by: Graham C on August 06, 2006, 08:35:37 PM I'm not so sure that's the case anyway, he was in the lead after Alonso went to the pits to change tyres and in the faster car. He may well have won it anyway.
Title: Re: Jenson Button Post by: Colchester Kev on August 06, 2006, 08:42:08 PM It doesnt matter how he won, he won !!
I thought the idea of formula 1 was that the most reliable car wins anyway. A load of overpaid prima donnas driving cars round in circles at half decent speeds .... not like those footballers that have to graft for their wages ;) Title: Re: Jenson Button Post by: leighton_87 on August 06, 2006, 08:46:46 PM It doesnt matter how he won, he won !! I would rather poke my eyes out with a sharp stick. Title: Re: Jenson Button Post by: Graham C on August 06, 2006, 10:16:10 PM Not a fan then Kev :D
I don't think I'd like to go and see one live but I don't mind it on tele. Title: Re: Jenson Button Post by: Nem on August 06, 2006, 10:17:33 PM I'm not a big fan of F1. But I would love to go and watch a Grand Prix live.
Title: Re: Jenson Button Post by: Sark79 on August 06, 2006, 10:34:46 PM My favorite sport. I love everything about it, I used to live about half a mile away from Knockhill racing circuit. I have a locals knowledge of all the areas where you can sneak in without paying :D
Title: Re: Jenson Button Post by: thetank on August 06, 2006, 11:15:40 PM Well done Jenson, finally taking advantage of position. ::)
I wanna buy an RV and go see NASCAR. The Indianaoplis 90,000 or some pisch like that. Oooh, and I can have hot dogs on the go. Title: Re: Jenson Button Post by: Tonji on August 06, 2006, 11:55:29 PM I used to go regularly to the Grand Prixs, Brands Hatch & then later Silverstone. Fantastic events to go to, especially as we had Pit Passes ::)
The sound of a start of a F1 race is something else (& surprisingly painful). And the smell....its like petrol & money mixed with hot dogs. Title: Re: Jenson Button Post by: Graham C on August 06, 2006, 11:59:12 PM I'd definatly go if I had pit passes :D
Title: Re: Jenson Button Post by: raab11 on August 07, 2006, 12:02:38 AM F1 is ok but i find sitting at the mickey d's in cumbernauld and watching the traffic is more exciting!! oh and sark ive lived within a couple of miles of knockhill for more than thirty years, if you really know how to get in for free then let me know because it cost me over a £100 for the weekend a couple of weeks ago!!! Title: Re: Jenson Button Post by: Sark79 on August 07, 2006, 12:21:35 AM raab, there is a rubbish area used for old car bits, etc. If it is still there, it should be near the far side heading towards Saline/Steelend. There is a footpath leading over the hills. The one my friends and I always used was near to the radio mast. It is a tough walk, but it is free. By going through the rubbish area, there is never any marshals there. You can basically walk straight in. This may have changed now, I am going back to around 2001.
Title: Re: Jenson Button Post by: lvlarc_uk on August 07, 2006, 12:28:10 AM Great win indeed. Funny thing is just last week he was on Top Gear getting hassled by Clarky for 0 wins in F1 :D

Title: Re: Jenson Button Post by: lvlarc_uk on August 07, 2006, 12:47:16 AM Why did he get 9th then if he did not finish?
Shouldn't of Sato, Monteiro, Speed, Albers, all the guys who finished in 10th, 11th, 12th etc get better position than Schumacher? Title: Re: Jenson Button Post by: lvlarc_uk on August 07, 2006, 12:48:27 AM Why did he get disqualified? Was it the Polish guy? Kubica got dq'd because his car didn't make the right weight after race, was 2Kg under weight. Title: Re: Jenson Button Post by: raab11 on August 07, 2006, 12:52:12 AM Why did he get 9th then if he did not finish? Title: Re: Jenson Button Post by: Sark79 on August 07, 2006, 01:00:05 AM I hope that isn't the end of Villeneuve in f1. He has been my favorite driver for years. The BMW pr woman said in an interview on one of the F1 forums it may be the end for him now.
Has anyone heard his new single? it is expected to be in the Canadian charts. You can hear it on myspace . It is not my cup of tea, he should stick to driving http://www.myspace.com/jvofficial |
