Title: anyone like space? Post by: madasahatstand on August 08, 2006, 10:42:45 PM Me and thousands of others on have been waiting on the launch of the stardust project where you get the chance to look through slides with a virtual telescope looking for interstellar dust. If you find one (i think ive got 2 so far?) you can win the right to name them.
As i was typing this i realised that probably a lot of folk aint into stardust even if they like space but heres the link anyway. you join and go through a tutorial and pass a test. then its away you go. there are lots of test videos mixed in with real slides to ensure a certain degree of accuracy http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ Title: Re: anyone like space? Someone named a star in his honour for us. We got a picture framed, with his name on it,and where the star is,, It took me a long time, nearly 7 years to get this out,it now hangs proudly on my living room wall. THE SAM HUNT STAR I am so proud someone did this for me... Title: Re: anyone like space? Every so often I come across a post on here that makes me stop, look at the screen for awhile, then find that everything has truly been put into perspective by what I've just read. Thanks for sharing that Shelly. Title: Re: anyone like space? I've just got a feeling there will be hundreds or even thousands without a track - so it could be a LONG boring search. Title: Re: anyone like space?
