Title: Vegas Jet Lag
Post by: MrMoves on August 12, 2006, 11:04:38 AM
I just read Snoopy's "tired of being tired" story.

I sympathise.  I got home last Monday and each day since have felt the urge to sleep between 4pm - 7pm.  Then I sleep normally through the night apart from waking up around 6am "full of beans".

Yesterday, Friday, was the first day I haven't napped in the day.  I hope I've broken the cycle, it is a horrible thing.

Yeah .. 8 hours is so much worse then 5. 5 I can breeze through - 8 causes havoc :(

Sounds like you are back on track now :)

A placebo?

Beating jetlag just takes a bit of stamina! Just stay up till the time you normally go to bed, then go to bed. Wake up the next day a little tired but you are on the right time, go to bed again at the correct time and the next day you are perfect.

Melatonin is what they sell in the US.

aah melatonin rings a bell,  long time ago somebody told me to buy it as then you are clear of jet lag, but thought that in the end my body would do that, so just sleep on plane going back, and should be 1/2 way there

I've never really suffered jet lag like this before.  I've been to a fair few time zones too.

I must be getting old.

Yep, that's exactly what happened to me.

Having trouble eating too, only seem to be able to manage one meal a day.

I'm going to get through a film though if it kills me!

Jet Lag, pah. It's for tourists.

So I got to sleep at 3pm and am buzzing at 4am. How is that different from normal? :D

I've just got in from flying back from Vegas. I can't sleep on planes and so was awake the whole flight back, despite not going to bed the night before till 7am due to watching the WSOP final table. I've had two hours sleep in the last fifty hours and yet if I went to bed now, I wouldn't sleep - I don't feel tired.

Yet when Monday morning, and work, comes around, I'll probably be shattered.
