Last night in a sat at the Vic , we had Aces in 2 consecutive hands , then 2 people had the rockets in the NEXT hand and then another person had rockets in the next two hands.6 AA's in 5 consecutive hands , will I see this in my life time again ?

At the Vic i once had KK three times on the trot which was amazing.

I doubt you will ever see AA that many times againif you play another 200 years.

First time I went to Luton with two Pals ...One of them hit Quad A's in his first hand of the night followed by Trip A's in the very next hand.... :o

It's a funny old game. I remember 1 gala hand when players had 10s, jacks, queens, kings, and aces. And it was in that order!!!

Well snoopy, I actually dealt the hand you refer to, but the story had an even more bizarre twist.

You are absolutely corrrect in your memory, it was pocket Tens, Jacks, Queens, Kings & Aces, in that order, & each player sat next to each other. It was witnessed by almost the entire card room, because once it was "on their backs", almost everyone came rushing across to our table to see what the fuss was about. And if someone had told me the story, I dont think I would have believed them.

So once the fuss had died down, I needed to deal the board. And whilst the guy with AA was clearly favourite, (he was 44% to win, but clear favourite) he was not THAT confident, as any "paint" (bar an A) would beat him, & what was the chance of 5 cards without paint?

First card down, came a HUGE roar - it was an A!

So Matey Boy with the A, who had been 44% pe-flop, was now 97.7%, against 4 opponents, and it's hard to imagine many situations where anyone could be 97.7% favourite in a 5 way pot.

But he never won it!

The board came A 5 3 2 4. Split pot!

It's fixed, this B & M Game, you know.......

The different permutations of hands that I see, both live & online, is a source of wonderment to me, & is part of what makes poker such a lovely & enjoyable game. Though I just hate it when folks see a long odds shot win, & they immediately cry "foul".

I saw one of those real topsy turvy hands in Dublin, when the odds for winning swing violently both ways.

On their backs pre-flop, it's KK v 77, & the guy with 77 stands up ready to depart.

Flop is 3-4-6, suddenly Mr 77 has 4 more outs, as any 5 would give him a straight.

And, amazingly, the turn was exactly that, a 5!

It's all over, or so we all thought, but the River bought a........SEVEN!

Split pot!

Neither of the two players seemed to know whether to laugh or cry!

I love hands like that. One where the lead's always changing. I remember another at the gala which was all-in. AQ v KK. Board came AQKAK. The players involved couldn't keep up! Neither was sure who was ahead when the turn came and by the time they'd figured it out, the quads popped up.

at 500NL in blackpool last spring, 6 handed, i got AA 3 times in 5 deals.
scooped the blinds on the first two, showing both & joe grech's JJ stuffed them on the last one.
that'll teach me to show nice hands...

Julian only got AA 3 times in 5 hands? Wow, his luck must be turning for the worse. He told me he never raises with less than AA, & he raises almost every hand.

I do hope he's not been stealing all this time........
