Title: Dragons Den C4 Post by: MPOWER on August 17, 2006, 11:46:37 PM I 've watched the last 3 programes on C4
How brave and and much believe do you have to have in yourself to stand in front of these people. My ideas would be vending machines at airports for smoking patches on longhaul flights. Or an ATM type thing to order in a McDonalds etc. Order what you want eat and print it off in the local lanuage to give to the server, saving time and staff . What I'd love to see is Rob Yong stand there and say he wants to open a poker club. The dream of succsess stops you going mad. This time next year i'll be a Millionaire. I think it's a great programme and I can see why it's so popular. People love honest reactions and seeing people sweat. I have to confess to being thoroughly entertained when they crumble during their presentation. It's just another example of why reality tv is so popular. Title: Re: Dragons Den C4 Post by: TightEnd on August 17, 2006, 11:53:07 PM it's a great programme...all the "dragons" are superb and some of the presentations are fantastically bad...eg the guy who did the multigym in an arm chair or the picnic bag lady who wanted to gross £15k in 3 years from a £50k investment
Really good telly! Title: Re: Dragons Den C4 Post by: MPOWER on August 18, 2006, 12:00:21 AM I agree Sponyo
If you know your going to be on T.V at least prepare yourself. It would be funny though if the Yongster went on. and they all blanked him ( how could they sleep at night) when they see his results. I do think though, they give the punters a hard time. All the clever people succeed. I wish I was clever or brave. Title: Re: Dragons Den C4 Post by: Claw75 on August 18, 2006, 12:21:59 AM when i was trying to give up smoking last week I thought it would be good to invent a cigarette case that would allow you access to only one cigarette at a time, at predetermined time intervals. It's a stupid idea really, because you would of course just smash the thing open or go to the shop for more smokes when you wanted them, but I bet there are enough people that think they would get use out of such a product that would spend on it!

He spent months building a prototype of a cordless doorbell (that you could take out into your back garden etc), and was mighty peeved when he spotted one in an 'innovations' catalogue. Title: Re: Dragons Den C4 Post by: Ironside on August 18, 2006, 12:38:47 AM why would you want to take your doorbell into the garden surely if someone saw you in the garden they wouldnt just speak to you rhter than asking you for the doorbell so they could ring it
Title: Re: Dragons Den C4 Post by: bolt pp on August 18, 2006, 12:51:34 AM Is the wads of cash in front of them real cos i would so pick it up and run out.
I'd say "you dont like my electonic pencil sharpner thats also a toaster, well hows this for enterprising"? and i'd just grab the fake piles of money and leg it knowing that i tried my best and didnt crack under the pressure. LOL I thought that too, rubbish me and make me look a fool on national tv, and i would take the money and peg it :) Title: Re: Dragons Den C4 Post by: Claw75 on August 18, 2006, 08:07:25 AM why would you want to take your doorbell into the garden surely if someone saw you in the garden they wouldnt just speak to you rhter than asking you for the doorbell so they could ring it the doorbell button would still be on your front door. It was the 'rining' part that was portable, so if you were in the backgarden and someone pressed your doorbell, you would be able to hear it. Title: Re: Dragons Den C4 Post by: Graham C on August 18, 2006, 08:21:35 AM that's what mobile phones are for!
I quite enjoy this program too. Haven't seen the last two but I have them recorded so I'll watch them at the weekend. The guy with the egg cooker made me laugh but I did think it was a good idea. Title: Re: Dragons Den C4 Post by: Claw75 on August 18, 2006, 10:08:44 AM that's what mobile phones are for! I'm talking early-mid 80s! I agree about the egg cooker - I am rubbish at doing soft-boiled eggs so I would buy one Title: Re: Dragons Den C4 Post by: Graham C on August 18, 2006, 10:19:44 AM lol oh I thought it was last week or so :D
Title: Re: Dragons Den C4 Post by: BrumBilly on August 18, 2006, 10:21:59 AM Great show, and you can watch anytime for free on the bbc website.
See thru wellies! No really, they change appearance depending on the socks your wearing! NUTS... Title: Re: Dragons Den C4 Post by: Graham C on August 18, 2006, 10:25:10 AM LOL See through wellies :D I like that idea :D
Title: Re: Dragons Den C4 Post by: Jon MW on August 18, 2006, 10:41:21 AM She was funny, good way to win the investors over - suggest that because they're rich they don't look after their kids and they just get a nanny to do it for them. :D
She was almost as good as the bloke who tried to give the multi-millionaire successful entrepeneurs business lessons at every opportunity :D Title: Re: Dragons Den C4 Post by: Claw75 on August 18, 2006, 11:05:31 AM lol oh I thought it was last week or so :D I did say 'when I was a kid', so I will take that as a compliment of sorts! Title: Re: Dragons Den C4 Post by: BrumBilly on August 18, 2006, 11:11:54 AM hehe...He was amazing. Couldn't open his mouth without issuing business maxims.
How about 'see thru' trousers...they change appearance depending on the underwear you are (or aren't) wearing. The guy with the 'multi-gym armchair' was funny as hell and took it all in the right spirit. Title: Re: Dragons Den C4 Post by: MrMoves on August 18, 2006, 12:56:35 PM I love this show. Some of the ideas are hilarious. The sun lounger guy was a gem. The transparent wellington boot woman had me cringing when she forgot things about her product and had no idea what gross profit was.
More shows like this! Less big brother crap!
