Title: "Snakes on a Plane" Post by: TightEnd on August 17, 2006, 11:49:32 PM This film opens tomorrow and it has been a real internet hype story...way before anyone had seen it in the US it was voted the "best film title ever" on a film website
No idea if the film is any good, but Samuel L Jackson has said that he only signed up for the film on the basis of the title without reading the script. As the hype grew a film magazine ran a competition entitled "blank on a blank" asking amateur film-Makers to come up with the least understandable "animal in a location" film title the winners were 3rd Sloth on a Tank 2nd Eagles on a Chariot 1st Raccoons on a SpaceShuttle Filiming of "snakes" ended at the end of 2005 and the studio ordered five days of reshoots. It also ran a competition for geeks of this film to put a line in the film When you see the film and hear Jackson say "Enough of these motherf***ing motherf***ers on my plane"...well that was the winning line! I like this type of film buff stuff! Title: Re: "Snakes on a Plane" Post by: snoopy1239 on August 17, 2006, 11:51:01 PM I think they had to reshoot to put that line in.

Anyone else hear it?

The film title is so unimaginative that that it sounds a raspberry winner to me. Title: Re: "Snakes on a Plane" Post by: I, Zimbra on August 18, 2006, 03:20:36 AM I heard about another competition, based on 'Snakes on a Plane', where people were asked to retitle other movies in the 'Snakes on the Plane' mould, i.e. making the title as plank-obvious as possible:
e.g. Raiders of the Lost Ark might be "Dude with the whip versus the Nazis" or something similar... (I don't know who won) Title: Re: "Snakes on a Plane" Post by: thetank on August 18, 2006, 03:24:44 AM School of Rock could be retitled
"Sister Act 2 with a fat bloke" Title: Re: "Snakes on a Plane" Post by: bolt pp on August 18, 2006, 03:38:00 AM Kindergarden cop and the third Reich

Definitely, although I think you should settle out of court for a writing credit on the film - that way you'll have the glamour of being able to pick up the 'Best Original Screenplay' oscar next year. 8) Title: Re: "Snakes on a Plane" Post by: Snatiramas on August 18, 2006, 02:50:39 PM The title is something made up by a Vogon guard (in the Hitchikers Guide to the galaxy) trying to be imaginative
