Title: things can only get better Post by: Ironside on March 24, 2005, 07:21:39 PM last night i made a trip to the casino for first time this year, 10 rebuy comp PLHE,
as i have book into play the vic next week i thought i better get some practice in as i havent picked up a card since blackpool in november. because of my reluctance to travel 90 minutes each way to my local i havent had much live experiance and because of that i havent seen the runs of good cards and bad cards that i have seen online. i would also like to add that i dont think of myself as a very skillfull, lucky or unlucky player. i know my way round a table and i understand the basic odds and knwo the importance of looking after and gathering chips. more often than not if i go all in with the worst of it i come out with the worst of it and if i go in with the best of it i come out with the best of it and rarely get myself into coin flips but have won and lost my fair share of flips. so last night was new for me total cost 90 starting the end of the rebuys with a double top up having tried to double up the last hand before the break as i had less than a rebuy in my stack nothing in the hands i lost i would consider bad beats (pairs v under pairs, aces v weaker aces top, pair v smaller pair, open ended straight v gutshot straight etc etc)on there own but rolled into one it was the coldest deck in history, the fact 2 people actaully asked for the cards to be changed(never seen this in my local game before) seemed odd to me as i don't believe in this changes luck PLUS the fact they were running 100x better than i was. now for many of you players you will see this alot and sometimes it last for months. but as a hobby player making a long trip down to london next week i can only believe all that bad luck i recieved last night will be rewarded with some huge out draws on tuesday so when i raise with 72o and you guys are sat with pocket rockets beware and fold. either that or my luck will continue on cold streak and you will have to put up with me drunk at the bar for 2 days wondering why my AA got beat by 72o |
