Title: Cheating Post by: johnlarsson on August 22, 2006, 12:36:39 PM Is this classed as cheating and what can you do about it.
1 guy all in. 2 callers. Board of Ks Qs Th 9s one card to come. NO SIDE POT. NOT A SINGLE CHIP Guy moves all in to a dry side pot with 4h 5c . (its his mate thats all in) Title: Re: Cheating Post by: Colchester Kev on August 22, 2006, 12:39:06 PM errrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmmm YES !!
Title: Re: Cheating Post by: johnlarsson on August 22, 2006, 12:40:59 PM aye but what can you do... can you get them thrown out. banned?
Title: Re: Cheating Post by: Graham C on August 22, 2006, 12:43:57 PM Report it if you like and just forget about it. Make a note on their names and don't sit at a table with them again.
Title: Re: Cheating Post by: Colchester Kev on August 22, 2006, 12:44:17 PM It is so obviously cheating that I would have had to draw attention to it, if it was live, I would call the cardroom manager over and show him exactly what had happened, if it was on tinternet, I would send the hand history to suppport and demand an inquest!!
Title: Re: Cheating Post by: ifm on August 22, 2006, 12:45:30 PM Maybe he thought he was ahead ;ifm;
Title: Re: Cheating Post by: johnlarsson on August 22, 2006, 12:45:55 PM happend live last night. i called with Aspades because i had so much invested and had outs. i hit an ace and won. the guy all in had a Kd
at the time it didnt bother me but now im annoyed Title: Re: Cheating Post by: ACE2M on August 22, 2006, 12:50:09 PM i've had this before and it is cheating in my opinion but technically is he doing anything wrong?
Title: Re: Cheating Post by: johnlarsson on August 22, 2006, 12:51:28 PM thats what i was asking. it is so obviously cheating...
but technically it isnt its a blufff into a dry side pot.? Title: Re: Cheating Post by: TightEnd on August 22, 2006, 12:53:50 PM It may be unethical but I don't think you can ban someone for it
whilst you and I may not bet into a dry side pot with nothing at least he is betting...its not as if he is checking the nuts to his mate to keep him in is it? (far worse in my opinion) I do not think a cardroom supervisor could do anything about this Title: Re: Cheating Post by: Colchester Kev on August 22, 2006, 12:55:01 PM The thing is, by doing it on the turn the mug is going to have to expose his cards as it will be "on there backs" if you pass.
If he does it on the river, he could see his mates cards and just muck without showing ... at least justice was done and you won a nice chunk of chips off him :) Title: Re: Cheating Post by: johnlarsson on August 22, 2006, 12:55:44 PM yeh i kmow.
The place i was playing nobody ever checks it down its a joke. but there is a difference between betting with bottom pair or ace high to betting with 5 high Title: Re: Cheating Post by: johnlarsson on August 22, 2006, 12:58:26 PM The thing is, by doing it on the turn the mug is going to have to expose his cards as it will be "on there backs" if you pass. If he does it on the river, he could see his mates cards and just muck without showing ... at least justice was done and you won a nice chunk of chips off him :) u should have seen his face. he said how the hell can you call. I said because i have already put 2k in. its 2k more to call. I have and ace a jack or a spade to hit and i belived both only had a small pair or hit there king... then i said. never mind that how the hell can you go all in with 5 high. he said he was bluffing. i said and what exactly were u bluffing at. u werent going to win anything. both were put out and went home unhappy :D Title: Re: Cheating Post by: AlrightJack on August 22, 2006, 01:25:39 PM I think u should name and shame the cheating f-bomber.

Title: Re: Cheating Post by: johnlarsson on August 22, 2006, 03:22:55 PM YIP
Title: Re: Cheating Post by: thetank on August 22, 2006, 03:30:14 PM If nobody ever seems to check it down, you've just got to adjust to that.
Sometimes it's bone-fide cheating, other times it's just bone-fide muppetry. Sounds like you've been doing well there, a few cashes I hear. This is the rough that goes with smooth. Title: Re: Cheating Post by: johnlarsson on August 22, 2006, 03:40:54 PM oh yeh, there has been a few idiots who have moved all in to a dry side pot with ace high, flush draw bottom pair etc.
but he was doing it with 5 high. yeh, few cashes, this this is rough that comes with the smooth and i just need to ride it out Title: Re: Cheating Post by: M3boy on August 22, 2006, 05:13:32 PM I can see an argument for ace high, bottom pair - if there is enough in the main pot.
But 5 high??!?!?!? - JUST PLAIN OUT AND OUT CHEATING!!!! Title: Re: Cheating Post by: johnlarsson on August 22, 2006, 05:18:09 PM my point exactly
Title: Re: Cheating Post by: Bongo on August 22, 2006, 05:21:42 PM Some people don't realise it's a dry sidepot though.
Title: Re: Cheating Post by: Dubai on August 22, 2006, 07:12:40 PM By betting he may give himself 6 outs to the win the pot and 4 to split. By checking he leaves himself 0 outs.
Excellent bet imo. Title: Re: Cheating Post by: Royal Flush on August 23, 2006, 01:24:31 AM By betting he may give himself 6 outs to the win the pot and 4 to split. By checking he leaves himself 0 outs. Excellent bet imo. ;ifm; ;ifm; |
