Why do all telecoms firms seem like a bunch of completely incompetent arses on a grand scale?

It's to long mate, all sorted now after about 4 hours worth of phone calls, i only wanted to cut my service off and have my bill sent to my new address.

The guy was quite good but the system seemed attrocious.

lol NTL are a good company, i have only had one problem with my net always dropping granted they fixed it was down for over day but never had any probs since a year on!

NTL provide a good service, the company is appalling.  When I cancelled my tv subscription with them, I had to send letters recorded and threaten to take them to court if they didn't stop chasing me for money.  It took them about 4 months to sort things out and getting throught to CS on the phone takes forever.

Thankfully, the internet side of the business is better.  The tech support have always been very good and helpful and in the last couple of years I've only really had one problem when my net went down for about 20 mins when I was in the middle of a tourney.

I agree with good service but Customer Service, thats another story.  I also have had nightmares in the past when anything needs sorting.  Funny this topic coming up today because I have to spend 2 hours of my day talking to SKY customer service and tech support.  They were a million times worse imo.

In the last 2 months I have made 16 phone calls to SKY and had 1 engineer out to still not have my problem sorted out. Today, I made 4 phone calls, got cut off twice and spoke to a total of 7 people. Gave my full details out 7 times, got called Mr twice and had my surname changed by 4 people.  Problem sorted?  Nope!!!

NTL customer service is the worst of any company I have ever dealt with.

Please name ONE big company who has a GOOD support service?

TRUTH : THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOU!!!!
