Title: Re: Did I Play This Wrong? Post by: snoopy1239 on August 23, 2006, 10:45:33 PM It's a bad beat with 1 card to come.
Probability suggests that you'll win these more times than you'll lose, which thereby implies that you'll earn money in the long-run. He played it badly by only flatcalling the flop. Title: Re: Did I Play This Wrong? Post by: Royal Flush on August 24, 2006, 06:15:42 AM 50p

Post by: totalise on August 24, 2006, 09:09:46 AM Bandit,
lets try something different. Why dont you pretend that the hand wasn't played by you, and then you give your analysis on how you think the hand was played.. whether or not the flow of the hand could have been improved.. maybe you point out where the mistake you felt was, and the people on here will offer their advice on whether your reasoning is logical or not On first glance this (like a lot of your other posts) seems to be a case of "got my money in with the best hand and lost, where did I go wrong".. so I am curious as to whether or not you actually feel like you could have improved on your play, or you are just annoyed that you got mugged on the river. peace Title: Re: Did I Play This Wrong? Title: Re: Did I Play This Wrong? Post by: Horneris on August 24, 2006, 09:40:40 AM The raise pre flop is fair enough, and although after the flop you had an open ended straight draw, you overbet your draws a touch in my opinion (although you might have been trying to semi-bluff) by betting £2.70. Although, when you hit one of your draws, on the turn, you got all your and his money committed with the nuts. Which is excellent.
Then for some reason he calls with two pair and hits a Full House on the river. This happens a lot in omaha so im no tgoing to call it a bad beat, its just bad luck! Title: Re: Did I Play This Wrong? Although, when you hit one of your draws, on the turn, you got all your and his money committed with the nuts. Which is excellent. That was exactly my line of thought. I've been reading through a few other hand analysis threads and the consensus by a few folk is that some times you better to be playing with the cards i was dealt rather than hang about and wait for the bgg hands to drop for you. The flop is almost ideal i never seen many dangers and when i bet the pot i am hoping he folds to be honest, then when i hit one of my draws on the turn i'm thinking bingo, don't get me wrong when he calls i am still thinking thats what i want but then he hits on the river i was annoyed. If i am in his position there I can call for the rest of my chips with 2 pair. Yesterday it felt as if the whole world was conspiring against me every time i picked up a decent hand it seemed to get cracked with random hands both in tourney play and in the cash games. |
